Incomplete

When part of your soul dies, you never feel complete again. Kagome had told him this, but he never fully understood the meaning until she died.

For nearly the entire time they had known each other, Kagome was not in possession of her entire soul, but she never really let that get in the way of her living life to the fullest.

Part of her soul was stolen to revive Kikyou shortly after their first confrontation. It would turn out to be the first and last time he would ever see a complete Kagome. She survived with part missing, but there was a secret there, one she confessed to him shortly before their mating.

When part of your soul dies, you never feel complete again. Many had assumed that when Kikyou’s clay body was destroyed, the part of Kagome’s soul housed there would be returned to her, but in fact, it was not. That small portion of her soul was so corrupt, it went to hell, never to be reunited with the rest. Kagome felt pain from the moment that her soul was torn asunder, and that pain never really left her. She put up with pain every second of every day, and had confessed to her future mate that she had done it for Inuyasha. She did it because he was a friend, and because she owed it to him. Sesshoumaru did not think that his brother was worth it, but kept his mouth shut. She said it with such conviction.

Kagome had always shone with love and light, but the day he placed his mating mark upon her, she was even more bright that usual. She told him that it was because of their love that she felt as though she was once again in possession of her full soul. She felt like the love she had for him was so great that it filled her to the brim. There was nothing that could stitch her soul back together with its original piece, but it could be combined with another force.

They were truly soul mates. She believed it, and now, he did as well. When part of your soul dies, you never feel complete again. Sesshoumaru knew this. He felt the loss of part of his soul everyday. Part of his soul died when she did, and he didn’t know if he would ever feel complete again. The only time when he was not constantly aware of this emptiness was on the night of the crescent moon. He almost felt alive again, almost felt as he had when she was still alive. It was a strange feeling. He knew she was dead, but he could almost believe, on those nights, that she was still there.

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in

my heart)i am never without it(anywhere

i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done

by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear

no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want

no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows

higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
