Blind Collaboration Round Robin Dokuga FUN!

Chapter 1

Authors Note:

This story is going to be odd and different.  It’s something called a Blind Collaboration Round Robin Fiction.  Basically, that is 13 Dokuga authors have gotten together to write a story.  The difference between this and most collaborative efforts is that the authors don’t know who each other are and there is no set plot line or genre to the story.  What they have to do is just follow along the parts of the story that are posted and weave their own part from that.  So, at this point, no one involved knows the plot to this or where it will go.  This should be a fun ride!

Posting Note:  Alternate Universe was chosen merely because there is no way of knowing whether or not we’ll be staying with canon.  Hang on tight, here we go!!

Slipping into her bathing suit, Kagome dove into the clear blue water of the small pond.  She had taken a bath that morning so she wasn’t dirty but it had been a long and stressful day and she needed some kind of stress relief.  A nice swim in a cool pond was just the ticket.

After a lengthy swim under water, until her lungs felt like they were burning from lack of oxygen, she surfaced, brushing her hair out of her face.  Treading water, she shut her eyes and sighed contentedly.  Already she was feeling better, as though the stress was bleeding off her into the surrounding water.  That was a good thing.  Sighing, she opened her eyes then began to swim to the opposite shore.  Once there, she hung onto the rocky outcropping that served as a bank for a few minutes, legs lazily kicking under the water.  Shutting her eyes, she leaned her head back, letting her long hair submerge.  After a minute or so of that, she pushed off the bank then began to backstroke over to the other bank.  The act of kicking seemed to help dissipate what stress that remained.  By the time she reached the other bank of the pond, she felt at peace with the world once more and the cares of the day that had dragged her down were gone.

Smiling to herself, she dunked fully under water then emerged and sat on a rock near the edge.  Water up to her chest, she pulled her legs up, propped her heels on the edge of the stone and folded her arms around her shins before resting her chin on her knees, eyes shut.  Concentrating on the feel of the water lapping around her body, her mind began to wander to all kinds of things.  Naraku, the shards, Inuyasha, everything that dominated her life now seemed to crowd into her thoughts.  With a soft sigh, she thought about how thankful she was that she had finished school the year before so she no longer had to contend with worrying about that as well.  It seemed to her that she had more than enough to worry about as it was; school work was something that she sure didn’t miss.  But, with an inner snort of irony, she mused that her past assumption that once school was done things would be easier was about as wrong as it could get.  It seemed that once she lost that boulder around her neck, more seemed to take its place, burdens that were far heavier and made her life more complex than she had thought possible.  Sighing, she shook her head.

Unknown to her, she had an audience to her solitary ponderings.  Standing in the shadows, all but blending into the surrounding scenery, Sesshomaru stood there quietly watching her.

Honestly, he didn’t know why he was there or what drew him, but there he was, hiding in the shadows, watching her.  Something, of some sort, drew him here, though he knew not what it was.  Standing here, his eyes were locked on her, taking in every small movement that she made.  Why he was attracted to a mere ningen onna and why she seemed to fascinate him was beyond him, but the pull was there and he couldn’t deny it.  Silently he observed her, like an animal watching potential prey, until she seemed to have lulled herself into a bit of a doze.  That’s when he slowly eased himself out of the shadows.

Quietly, he slipped up to the small, blue pool, eyes locked on her back.  No, he didn’t know what he was planning at this point but he seemed to feel himself drawn to approach her.  When he was finally right behind her, showing his quick reflexes, he grabbed her around the waist with his one arm and plucked her deftly out of the water.

Eyes flying open, Kagome let out an ‘eep’ of fear then began to struggle against the being that had a hold on her.  Flailing wildly, she struggled and wiggled as she tried to get loose.  Not knowing who, or what, was holding her, she looked over her shoulder.  Immediately, from the silver hair and markings on his face, she knew who it was.  Her expression taking on a thunderous look, she snarled, “Sesshomaru!  What do you think you’re doing?  Put me down!”

Smirking at the weak attempts of the girl to get loose, the daiyoukai said nothing but held tightly to her until her struggling ceased.  Then he put her down and released his hold.

Spinning around, Kagome put her fists on her hips and glared daggers at the demon lord.  “What is this all about Sesshomaru?  What do you want?  Inuyasha isn’t here!”  Though she didn’t expect an explanation of any kind from him, she hoped he would clarify his actions at least slightly.  Something like this from Sesshomaru could mean nothing good, as she well knew, so she wanted to prepare for the worst.  Though she was basically unarmed and vulnerable, if it was a fight he wanted, then she would do her best and scream for help.  But she wasn’t going to do that until she knew what his intentions were.

Not answering her, he looked at the little angry onna, taking in everything about her.  Honestly, he wasn’t all that sure why he had done this, but there was no way in the lowest level of hell that he was going to reveal that to her.  Instead, he just stared at her.

Standing there, looking at the daiyoukai, Kagome felt more anxiety twist in her gut.  There was something not right here, but she didn’t know what.  Though his normal blank look was in place, there was something in his eyes that she couldn’t read and it made her nervous.  It seemed to be a feral look of some kind but she didn’t know what caused it.  That, the not knowing, put her more on edge.  Her first thought was to start backing away from him but she had no where to go.  Right behind her was the pond.  One step back would result in her falling in then she would be more vulnerable than she was already.  Nor did she want to start yelling for Inuyasha yet.  Thus far, he hadn’t made any violent move towards her.  There was no sense in calling in the cavalry if he wasn’t going to do anything.  So she stood there and waited, tense, to see what he was going to do, if anything.

Feeling her stress and nervousness, Sesshomaru all but sucked them in, savoring the feel of them as her aura and powers snapped and crackled across his skin.  It made him feel a surge from deep within.  Though it was a strange feeling, he found it quite enjoyable.  But he was now curious.  Something odd, and not wholly appreciated, came to mind after that.  Sure, it was out of character for him, but the idea intrigued him.  Since it came to mind, he wanted to know what sensations it would cause.

After a couple minutes of internal debate, he decided nothing ventured, nothing gained.  Showing the speed that he was known for, he quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her to his chest, crushing his lips down on hers.  As their lips touched, his body felt as though it were tingling madly, her powers snapping and crackling against his skin even more forcefully, making his blood surge in a most pleasant way.  Quickly, he decided that he liked it.  Holding her tightly to him, his mouth devoured hers, making the feelings intensify.  Distractedly, he mused that the feelings this was producing could possibly be addictive.  The thought bothered him but he shunted it aside and went with it.

From her end, Kagome couldn’t have been more stunned if he had ripped off his clothes and stood in front of her in a geisha outfit!  Not understanding where the lip-lock came from, or why he did it, she stood there stiffly, not sure what to do.  Still, she had to admit that she liked this.  She had been kissed by two males in her entire life: Inuyasha, just once, and now this one.  Quietly, she admitted to herself that this one was far better than the first and seemed to produce a bit of a fluttering in her stomach.  That hadn’t happened with Inuyasha.  Sure, with the hanyou, the circumstances had been different and stressful, but there had been nothing.  But this… this was like… wow!  Though she shouldn’t do such a thing and knew better, she couldn’t help herself, leaning into it and kissing him back.  Unconsciously, she put a hand on his chest and felt a surge of blood to her head at the feeling of the hard muscles rippling beneath the immaculate silk.  This whole thing was wrong and she knew it but she felt powerless to stop it.  His hold on her wasn’t tight enough that she couldn’t squirm and pull away, yet she didn’t… or couldn’t.

As the kiss heated up, he began to growl softly, parting her lips with his.  Now he was sure this feeling was addictive, but he didn’t care at this point.  All he wanted was more.

But, quickly, he ended it.  This wasn’t something that he could allow to continue since he was still unsure as to why it had come to pass in the first place.  Pulling his lips off hers, he turned her loose then backed away.  After shooting her a hot look and licking his lips, he turned on his heel and vanished back into the trees.  Smirking to himself, he thought about her reaction.  That, he would admit he liked.  So far, anyway, this was far more fun than tormenting the hanyou any day.

Standing there, still in shock, Kagome looked into the trees into which he had vanished.  Though she liked the kiss, and what it felt like, the thing that crowded to the front of her mind wasn’t about the kiss, not really.  Quietly, in a bit of an uneven voice, she asked out loud, “What was that about?”
