Darkness and Light by Kiyoe Lunet

Darkness and Light

Darkness and Light

Two halves of the same whole.

Always present when the other is.

Darkness and Light

Always one or the other,

Never the same,

Never mixing.

Darkness and Light

People say darkness means evil,

And light means good.

Darkness and Light

Don't trust the dark,

Only the light.

Darkness and Light

Black and white is all they see,

But I see shades of gray in between,

Is something wrong with me?

Darkness and Light

Is darkness really evil?

Does light always mean goodness, purity?

Do the shades of gray I see really exists,

Are they only in my head?

Or do people know they are there,

But say otherwise?

Darkness and Light

Tell me,

Are they really as they seem?

Or are people just scared of the truth?

Darkness and Light

Tell me the truth,

Are my eyes lying to me?

Darkness and Light

Don't hold back.

Darkness and Light.

Am I wrong?

Or do the people just pretend?

Darkness and Light

Am I really just naïve?

A simple child whom is always wrong?

Darkness and Light

The Light never comforts,

While Darkness is a welcomed blanket of comfort.

Darkness and Light

The Light only exposes,

And darkness protects.

Darkness and Light

In the darkness evil hides,

But, does that mean Darkness is evil?

Darkness and Light

In the light pure people reside,

But does that really make them pure?

Darkness and Light

Tell me now,

So I may understand.

Darkness and Light

Which is which?

Are they really that different?

Darkness and Light

Or are people just too blind,

To see that they are really the just the same?

So I hoped you enjoyed this, and i would also like to hear your opinions on this poem! Thanks!
