The Secret Affair
Dark and Light
Well, I know that I promised that I was working on the sequel to My Beloved Savior (and I still am!). This story just popped into my head and I couldn't resist in writing it. Review and let me know if you think I should continue it or not. Although, I would really like to continue it! :D
Disclamer: The characters of InuYasha are not mine, they are property of Rumiko Takahashi, Shogakukan, Yomiuri TV, Sunrise, and Viz. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter One 'The Secret Affair'
He was staring at her again. She couldn't believe that she had allowed their one-time affair to happen. Kagome, the Goddess of Spring, had avoided Sesshomaru, the God of the Underworld, for months after their affair.
She hated it when Lord InuTashio, the God of the Heavens, would call of the gods and goddesses together for gatherings. It just meant that she would feel uncomfortable the entire time she was there. Kagome could feel Sesshomaru's lustful gaze upon her. If her mother ever found out about the affair, she would marry her off to the ugly God of Welding, Totosai. Kagome would not let that happen.
Kagome walked over to her best friend Sango, the Goddess of the Hunt. She had to get away from Sesshomaru's lustful amber eyes.
"What's wrong, Kagome? You seem so distant," said Sango.
"It's nothing," said Kagome taking a sip of her wine. Sango studied her friend's face carefully. She had noticed that Kagome had been acting strange lately at all of the gatherings. Maybe she had fallen for one of the gods.
"Kagome, are you in love?" she asked.
Kagome almost spit her wine out. "What?! No!"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Sango! I'm positive!"
"Ok...but I don't believe you."
Kagome rolled her eyes at Sango. Sometimes she could be so stubborn. Her feelings for Sesshomaru were definitely not those of love. Attraction was there, but not love. The only plausible reason that Kagome could think of for sleeping with Sesshomaru was his devastating good looks. All in all, he was indeed the perfect package. His silver hair was smooth and shiny. He had the most gorgeous amber eyes out of his entire family. He had a crescent moon on his forehead and two magenta stripes on both of his cheeks. He was handsome so it was easy for Kagome to be attracted to him.
He had charmed her with his compliments, gave her too much wine, and the next thing Kagome knew, she was no longer one of the respected Virgin Goddesses. Of course, no one knew that except her and Sesshomaru so she was still considered one. She felt like she was betraying everyone she loved, especially her mother Sada, the Goddess of the Home. She was her mother's favorite child so she felt that she had this responsibility placed on her shoulders to remain a virgin until her mother found her a suitable husband. So far, her mother had suggested Inuyasha, the God of Fertility and the brother of Sesshomaru, and Kouga, the God of the Sun.
Kouga, in Kagome's opinion, was almost as handsome as Sesshomaru. But Kagome only saw Kouga as a friend and nothing more. Plus, he was way too cocky.
Inuyasha wasn't much better in the cocky department either. Although he was handsome, he possessed a boyish attitude about him that Kagome found unattractive, but she believed that it would change as he matured. She also really loved his cute doggy ears on top of his head.
"Kagome. Come here," her mother called from the other side of the room.
"See you later, Sango."
"Bye, Kagome."
Kagome walked to the other side of the Great Hall where her mother was talking to Lord InuTashio and his queen, Lady Izayoi, Goddess of Marriage and mother of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. In the pit of her stomach, Kagome knew that something was going on.
"Ah, young Kagome! You are lovely as ever," said Lord InuTashio as he kissed her cheek.
"Yes, you certainly are beautiful," said Lady Izayoi. "She'll be perfect for our son."
"What are you talking about?" asked a confused Kagome.
"My dear daughter, I have finally chosen a suitable husband for you," said Sada.
"Well, who is it mother?" asked Kagome. She knew that it would either be Sesshomaru or Inuyahsa.
"It will be our son Inuyasha," said Lord InuTashio. "I will go and make the announcement soon to the rest of the gods. We have already informed Inuyasha of our decision, and he seems most pleased that you will be his bride."
Kagome really didn't know what to say. She was actually kind of happy that she was to be married so soon. Maybe it would keep Sesshomaru away from her.
She looked up and saw Inuyasha approaching her. He kissed her on her cheek and she smiled at him.
"Are you alright with us getting married?" Inuyasha asked her.
Kagome was shocked! When had Inuyasha become so mature? He was actually asking her if she was alright with the marriage.
"Yes, Inuyasha. I'm perfectly fine," she replied happily.
They looked towards the two thrones in the back of the room where Lord InuTashio was standing with Lady Izayoi.
"Excuse me; I have an important announcement to make everyone!" Lord InuTashio's voice rang out. "My son, Inuyasha, is now engaged to the lovely Goddess of Spring, Kagome. Their wedding will be held within the next few weeks."
Thunderous applause broke out, and Inuyasha kissed Kagome's cheek again causing her to blush. She looked up and saw Sesshomaru from the other side of the room. Kagome had never seen his eyes so full of hatred. She couldn't help but shrink back at the sight of them.
Somewhere, deep down, Kagome knew that something was going to happen.
Please review! Let me know what you think! :D
