This Story Isn't New... Tch
"Inuyasha! I'm tired of you always comparing me to Kikyo! I'm not her for God's sake!" Kagome shouted angrily at the stubborn half-demon.
"I didn't mean to compare you two! Damn it all, Kagome! We both know the difference between Kikyo and you!" Inuyasha yelled back defiantly in his naturally loud voice.
"Oh yeah? And what is it, hm?! That she's better than me? Or am I just too difficult for you because I actually tell you what's wrong with 'us' instead of just accepting your problems?"
Silence
"Exactly Inuyasha! It doesn't matter how much I do for you or care because at the end of the day, you'll always run back to her! Face it, you're just too in love with Kikyo!" the young miko's eyes began to gloss over with frustrated tears as she pointed to the forest where she'd witnessed the old couple confess their love.
Meanwhile, Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara were hiding in Kaede's hut as they tried not to listen to the fight going on outside.
"...Shouldn't we try to calm them down at least? I hate listening to Kagome being so upset." Sango absenmindedly stroked Kirara's fur with crinkled eyebrows. Kagome was like her sister and she could almost literally feel her pained heart. Kirara looked up at Sango and mewed quietly in agreement.
"It is best to let things run their course. Especially when it involves Kikyo." Miroku replied calmly.
But this is the worse fight they have actually had without Kagome shouting 'Sit!' yet, he added mentally.
By now there would have been a hole so deep in the earth, it would have reached all the way to America.
"I think Sango's right, Miroku. Someone needs to interfere soon or we won't see Kagome for a long time. They usually fight and argue but they need to be stopped this time," Shippo spoke up.
Majority overruled in this case, but before anyone could even get out of the hut, Inuyasha went too far.
"Inuyasha, I'm not saying you have to choose between her and I, I'm saying if you don't then finding the rest of the shards and defeating Naraku won't happen! Kikyo keeps getting in the way and we both know it!" Kagome eyed him violently and crossed her arms.
Slap!
"Don't you ever say that about Kikyo! She's trying a helluva lot harder than you! All you ever do is complain about how unfair I'm being!" Inuyasha's hand was red from the contact his palm made with Kagome's cheek.
When he realized what he said and done, it was too late. Kagome let one tear drop and quietly gathered up her bag.
"If that's how you feel then fine. Have her help you find the Shikon Jewel Shards," she announced bitterly and ran off towards the Bone-Eater's Well.
The rest of the group rushed up to Inuyasha and Miroku clonked the red-kimonoed idiot with his staff.
"Now you've done it. What the hell were you thinking hitting Kagome?!" Miroku scolded Inuyasha.
"How could you?!" was all Sango shouted before whacking the back of his head.
"Now she'll never come back!" Shippo pounded against Inuyasha's leg while crying on the ground.
"If she doesn't want to stay here anymore, who am I to say no?" he spat at his attackers.
"You should have at least tried to stop her! She's not the one to blame here, Inuyasha!" Miroku yelled frustradedly.
"Yeah, but she-she-"
"She what, Inuyasha?" Miroku interrupted. "Told you what you tried not to see? You were so smitten with Kikyo, you didn't bother to even notice how it was affecting Kagome!" he fought.
"You need to be more sensitive to other's feelings. Especially Kagome. You may not have noticed, Inuyasha, but she really likes you." Sango explained gently.
"She does? I just thought Kagome was too nice." Inuyasha scratched behind his left dog ear confusedly.
Ever since the first day Inuyasha had met Kagome, they were, at first, practically enemies. But with time, she'd changed Inuyasha so good so fast, even Kikyo was impressed. Kikyo had thought Kagome deserved Inuyasha more, but the hanyou still wanted a life with her. Sango was right; Inuyasha had become blinded.
