Kagome felt as if she were turning green. She rushed to the French doors of their penthouse apartment and went outside for some fresh air. She took in some deep breaths of the clean, brisk winter breeze that swept her hair around her like a living thing. She tried to maintain her composure after her near frantic desire for fresh air made her run outside, but in the end, was unsuccessful. She started giggling to herself, which soon turned to laughter that made tears run from her cerulean eyes. She knew that he had mellowed over the years, but did not know if his limited sense of humor would allow him to see the hilarity of this event. She spent fifteen minutes outside, and finally, when she thought she had her facial features under control, and all the giggles had worked their way out of her system, she went back inside the stately apartment.

Sesshoumaru heard his mate laughing like a loon on the balcony. He was not amused. Sure, he could see why she would be, but really, fifteen minutes? Sometimes loving her was pure torture. His mate was so fierce and loyal and loving to him, but at times, he really could acknowledge that the vast difference in their ages, along with species and upbringing, led him to not understand her. He made a decision when he mated her that he would spend the rest of his life trying to make her happy, to give her all that she desired, and to solve the puzzle that was his miko. He just didn't think that some things would ever be within his grasp.

She came inside, and went to embrace her mate. He took her in his arms, and as he leaned down to kiss her, she heard it. That noise that was unmistakable. She gagged, and wished for air. She also could not hold in her mirth any longer. She exploded in laughter.

"Hn"

The smile could not fade from her face, even under his haughty dismissal. "You have no one to blame. There is no one but you."

"This Sesshoumaru does not know what you are speaking of, miko."

She was laughing so hard she bent over, clutching her stomach as she felt she would either have to stop or pass out because she could not catch her breath.

Of course he would deny it. However, I heard it, and there is no other dog to blame it on.
