"Kagome!" The excited voice rang though her ears and made the needles poking her brain worse. Her mother honestly knew how to drive the raven haired young woman crazy. "I'm so proud of you!"

Kagome turned around to glance at why her mother was going crazy.

"What Mama?" The older woman simply smiled back at Kagome. Her mother really knew how to make her happy, and at that moment she was failing. She knew how much Kagome didn't like to talk about the unnaturally perfect grades she got and her eyes immediately were glued to a large white envelope that probably contained what she thought it did.

"Your grades came in!" Yup, it's just the grades. Oh well, maybe later they would be able to go have some fun at the mall or something together. Kagome and her mother loved to go look at clothing. "They're perfect!"

Kagome smirked and chuckled at this obvious knowledge.

"Did you expect me to fail everything?" She asked. Her mother shrugged, looking guilty for the first time in what probably had been years. Well, the older Higurashi woman did have a reason to fret. Back in middle school and early high school, Kagome had been obsessed with stories she found in the family shrine's old library. They spoke of a miko who was charged with guarding a jewel of unimaginable powers, and in the wrong hands the jewel could destroy the world.

Thankfully, Kagome has grown out of the living in a fantasy world stage and focused on school work. Well, she didn't truly give up on fantasy world things. She often loved to role-play and would visit various AIM chat rooms dedicated to such a leisurely activity. She loved to study occult and read about mythical creatures such as the vampire, werewolf and various other demons that stalked the night. The only bad thing was, with teens and tweens nowadays the in thing was being like totally interested in like really hot vampire guys because they totally were rebels and pirates because they're like cool, duh! Kagome detested her fellow youth; they were mostly made up of blubbering idiots who claimed they were different when they all read the same twelve year old blog-style no sex vampire novels and obsessed over the same pirate movie. It really sickened her.

"Well," her mother zoomed her back into reality. "I didn't expect you to do this well!"

The smile on her face almost made Kagome guilty, obsidian eyes were shinning with proud love for her dutiful daughter whom recently was setting a wonderful example for her younger brother. Kagome tugged off her school jacket and sighed with pleasure as she felt the warmth of her family's home warming her chilled legs from her short uniform skirt. Her school really needed to change the winter uniforms for girls, this short skirt thing just wasn't cutting it in the cold of winter while the guys stayed warm in their pants.

"I want to do something special for you tonight, Kagome," her mother giggled and raced to her side. Before Kagome could ask what she wanted to do, she was enveloped in a bone-crushing bear hug from her mother. "Let's go out to eat tonight, just us girls!"

"Alright!" Kagome feigned excitement, but deep down, she was pleased that she didn't have to spend half the night trying to ignore Souta. That boy could really get annoying at night. "What time? I still need to do my homework."

Kagome's older self smiled and shook her head, sending her short ebony locks bouncing on her head.

"Don't worry about your homework; you've over worked yourself to get these perfect scores, I think you deserve a break from your homework." Kagome readily agreed with her older mother; she didn't have that much to do anyways. Just a three page paper for her art class that she could finish no problem. Comparing two pieces of art from two different artists didn't take a super genius.

"Okay." She agreed. In two seconds flat, Kagome was ushered into her room.

"Wear your cute Harajuku clothes!" The awkward teenager turned back to her mother, her foot frozen on the first step of the stairs.

"Why?" She asked. Her tone was questioning, but deep down Kagome's stomach squealed with butterflies running rampant. Her mother telling her to wear clothes she'd saved up for six months in order to buy meant they had to be going to her favorite place.

"Momo's cafe, that's why!" A shrill scream was heard throughout the Higurashi home, causing the faint sound of running feet to drift toward the girls' position in the living room.

"What's going on!?" An old man peeked from the hall, trying to gauge the situation in order to save the family from any mythical threat he deemed was trying to destroy them all. Kagome and her mother burst out laughing together, Ms. Higurashi from the hilarity of her father and her proud mind set when it came to her daughter and Kagome from the sheer excitement of going to Momo's cafe with her mother. The two of them both loved a lolita cafe, but they would only go on special occasions to make sure that the cafe stayed special to the two of them.

"Nothing, Jiichan," Kagome smiled as she clutched her side to keep from falling over. "Me and 'kaasan are just planning on going to Harajuku for dinner."

The old man grimaced and turned his back to her daughter and granddaughter. Those two girls were just a menace together. Kagome took that moment in time to escape to her room and change.

Her closet was filled with things one would normally find in the trendy and hip Shinjuku, the fashionista's answer to Harajuku. While Hara was more into the goth, lolita and visual-kei genres of clothing, Shinjuku was known for their ultra main stream hip fashions that were ahead of the world it seemed. Kagome smiled as she pushed past all of her designer clothes, things that her mother bought her, and went straight for the first adorable Ama-Loli dress she had ever purchased with her own money.

Her family wasn't exactly poor; her grandfather had recently inherited a large fortune from his closet friend and he didn't know what to do with it.

"I'll die before I can spend it all, Kagome!" The sweet girl remembered those words from her grandfather every time she would try and turn down money he gave her. She worked a part-time job at Kissaten Kawaii in the crowded area of Tokyo in order to pay for this dress, and that only made Kagome love it even more!

She quickly shed herself of her drab green, red and white uniform and grabbed a brush from her dresser; taking a moment to smile at her handiwork. One of her secret loves other than occult, fantasy and obsessing over it was the world of Ama-Lolita. She had discovered the wondrous lifestyle and way of dress when she stumbled on Momo's Cafe's website online one day. It was located deep in the heart of Harajuku and Kagome had been utterly excited on her first visit there! She had even gotten to see an adorable lolita boy on a date with his Ouijisama; even if she did have to practically crane her neck and bend over backwards to see them. They had been in a private booth that was reserved for special guests only. Still, the two men looked utterly adorable and totally in love with each other!

Kagome giggled and let out a sigh as she wished she could have that one day. She was a closet BL fangirl, but nowhere near as crazy and out of it as most BL fangirls were... the brunette didn't run around conventions with those weirdo paddles smacking the asses of random guys... those were really confusing and strange.

Kagome, are you ready yet?” Her mother's voice wafter through her room, sending an excited batch of butterflies to wreck havoc on her insides.

No, Mama!” She called out from behind her open bedroom door. “Give me a little bit!”

With no effort at all, the teenager slipped into the high thread count dress and white stockings before running to the mirror on her vanity. Deciding to spend less time on curling her hair, she grabbed her baby pink teasing comb with jagged prongs and back combed part of her hair, teasing it for a bit of volume. After a sheet of hairspray, the girl reached into a drawer and took out a large pink bow decorated with white lace on a headband and slipped it on her head, loving the adorable dolly way it made her feel. Her make-up was a simple powder that made her a shade lighter and a silver eye shadow on black kohl.

Alright, Mama!” She spoke with a raised voice to make sure the older Higurashi heard her.

She raced down the stairs to meet her mother who sported a wa-loli kimono-style dress that matched her own Sweet Lolita dress; a light pink color decorated with little hearts and starts, white lace lining the thick cotton dress robe. Her obi was black and more than likely a “cheater” obi that was simple a strip of cloth and a pre-made bow that attached to each other with velcro. The trademark Higurashi ebony hair was piled into a neat looking bun that would make a geisha proud, and her blue eyes shimmered with happiness with the thought of going out with her daughter to a cafe both of the women loved with such a strong passion.

Ready to go?” Hiromi asked her child, not able to contain her small fit of giggles like a true Wa-Lolita should; they were demure, polite and reserved, and Kagome's mother was anything but those three terms at the moment.

Of course, Mama!” Kagome smiled and stepped into her dainty chunky heeled pink shoes that matched the dress she wore and the two mental children left for their favorite cafe.

Oi, Fluffy,” The horrid nickname his close friend had been calling him for a matter of years screeched his ears, making the suave man wish for a few moments that he deaf. “You really need to not be a damper on my sales.”

The pristine suit man clad rolled his eyes and never lost a single stroke of his finger as he typed away a report for his boss.

And why the hell do you wear suits all the time, Fluff?” On the inside, Sesshoumaru's temper was flaring, but he easily kept up his mask of emotionlessness.

Because Belmont-san never wears one at work, and one of us needs to look presentable when our clientele come for any reason.”

Miroku rolled his violet eyes and crossed his arms.

Really now?” He asked. “I think it's just you being a tight-ass demon.”

The silver haired youkai paused his typing for a fraction of a moment and turned to face his closet friend.

Remind me,” A single clawed hand traced his own lips as he allowed a few drops of his poisonous vemon to drip onto his pristine dark gray pin stripped jacket. “Why I haven't killed you yet.”

His voice, threatening as it seemed, did nothing to scare his friend. Miroku titled his head back and laughed, Sesshoumaru's empty threat only proving to amuse him.

Really, Fluffles,” If the heard that nickname one more time....

I'm going out to a club tonight, would you like to join me?” The question was empty, and the human knew it was. Sesshoumaru narrowed his golden eyes, a 'do that again and die' look present on his perfect lips.

No,” He replied, turning back to his mac laptop. “I do not wish to accompany you to a ridiculous place in which the only point is to find a quick means of sexual intercourse.”

The raven haired man fought against rolling his eyes as he turned to a rather large, beat up trunk; a strange thing to see among the rest of the pristine two-room apartment. Opening the large storage unit with a rather loud creak, Sesshoumaru winced against that horrid noise that grated his hypersensitive hearing.

Will you replace that piece of antiquated refuse?” He snapped, eyes still on the seemingly endless stream of numbers and letters emitting on his computer screen.

Miroku turned to stare at his friend. Sesshoumaru never really could talk like a normal person. He was surprised that the demon's bastard uncle hadn't smacked some 'normalcy' into the Ice Prince demon with that gay hand of his.

Can you speak English, Fluff?” He asked. Hearing that cursed name once again, the demon snapped and grabbed the nearest item to him.

I said, 'Get the fuck rid of that piece of shit!'” He shouted and threw what was in his hands straight at the drug dealer's head.

Ducking just in time, Miroku silently prayed to the Gods that he saw that coming. Petrified purple eyes looked up a few centimeters to see Sesshoumaru's hardback book on C++ (the one he had gotten for pleasure reading at night) lodged in the wall, only half the book was actually visible.

Oh wow,” He nervously chuckled. Maybe he should lighten up on the nicknames for now. “Well! I'm going, I'll be back later. Don't wait up for me!”

He spoke quickly as he grabbed a bit of the stash that was in the trunk and zoomed out of the apartment, leaving the youkai alone with a damaged wall and the stench of cannabis seeping into the apartment air.

Sesshoumaru choked as he breathed and held a hand in front of his mouth, trying desperately not to gag on the horrid after air trying to evade his senses.

I wish he would stop dealing that crap.” His vulgar language was to be blamed on the damn drug dealer he lived with. Miroku couldn't just deal ecstasy or cocaine, something that didn't reek. Oh no, he had to sell pot. As THE Sesshoumaru Shirofura, co-CEO of Lock Inc., a newly-formed partner to Kaiba Corp., Miroku HAD to sell something as low-class as marijuana. Of course, it made total sense.

Not that he even condoned his friend's occupation in the first place. He actually detested it. There was nothing more disgusting than pot. The mere thought of consuming it, hash brownies or smoking, was just so... undignified!

Shaking his head of these thoughts, Sesshoumaru went back to work and signed on the special AIM channel that Takahiro and himself had created through a little bit of tweaking. It's feature was only people who specifically worked for Lock Inc. could access it. The point was to be able to communicate with each other even when not in the office, which was why the office building itself was usually empty or filled with people who are only there for the superior internet connection that Takahiro had purchased for the company. It was extremely hard to get a job at Lock, but once you had one, it was the best job in Japan. Sesshoumaru smirked as he remembered an article about that not too long ago. He and Takahiro were featured on the cover of a fair few magazines under the title; “Best Men to work for in 2008”.

That day, his uncle had been overjoyed to learn that his company was the most sought after when it came to jobs. If you worked under Takahiro Belmont, his reference could get you a job anywhere; Sesshoumaru's intensely accurate and deep connections had even lead him to learn that a few of their ex-employees were now working for the American C.I.A.

From working to the man on a permanent sugar-induced high that owned a company that specialized in eroge and anime to working under the Central Intelligence Agency? The silver haired man shook his head; he definitely did NOT want to know.

You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel...”

Fuck!” The great Ice Prince taiyoukai jumped at the sound of his own phone, set to high and buzzing that ridiculous ring tone that he had to set for his calls to his emotionally cold nephew. Snapping the cell phone open, the golden eyed demon held the sleek white device up to his ear.

What?” He snapped, wanting to make this conversation quick.

Why can't you be my maid of honor!?” The voice demanded. Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes and growled, closing his futuristically silver laptop; this conversation would take a while.

Because there are a few qualities about me that are OBVIOUSLY NOT 'maid' like, at ALL,” He uttered into the small microphone on his cell. “I will NOT play a woman's role in your wedding; it is bad enough that you have asked me to be a groomsman.”

Sesshy-kuuuuuun!” Takahiro's whiny voice emitted a sense of sadness that Sesshoumaru would feel right through the phone.

What?!” He asked, glancing at the time on his multi million dollar Patek Phillipe Sky Moon wrist watch to check the time; not wanting to waste anymore time talking to his uncle when he should be making his way to their offices in downtown Tokyo.

You don't have to wear the dress I showed you!” That was the final straw. It was bad enough that his cousin Maki had suggested making Taka's wedding a Lolita-themed affair, she had ALSO told Sesshoumaru that he would look adorable in a dress she had just finished designing.

Sesshoumaru had told her to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Really, THE Sesshomaru Shirofura would not stand to be treated like some... homosexual cross-dresser, that the son of Takahiro's intended. He shuddered at the thought. Takahiro's fiance was a low-brow chef that had just gotten a job at Momo's Cafe when his uncle met him, and supposedly fallen right in love with the blonde wearing the male uniform that Maki had designed for her cousin. Really, together Takahiro Belmont and the Demented Duo, Momo and Maki Ayume, drove him up the wall. He would never survive another one of their match-making attempts, and he outright refused to actually take part in one of Maki's Bachelor Auctions; they were horridly undignified.

I will not,” He stated, his tone reaching finality. “And that is final.”

He snapped the phone closed and gathered his notes and computer before grabbing his cheapest jacket; a Billionair Courture black leather with a midnight mink collar, and headed out the door.

- - - - - - -

Momo!” Takahiro sighed and closed his baby pink Baby, the Stars Shine Bright themed phone he had to pay a pretty penny to have made for him and slipped it into the coat pocket of his hot designer Oujisama broadcloth jacket, complete with girlish frills and his favorite top hat.

What is it, Ta-kun?” The lolita-clad owner of the lush cafe the two were seated in had just arrived back from seating two guests and was still holding the menu customized to her crimson and black dress with princess sleeves and a bell shaped skirt. At her cafe, each waitress had a specific dress uniform that her sister, Maki, designed, and a matching menu came with them, letting the customer know for sure who was serving them.

He said no again.” Taka groaned and laid a slender hand with a shiny engagement ring on his finger over his forehead in an exaggerated form of distress.

Momo frowned at him, her raven curls bouncing as she shook her head.

You know that he will never agree to it,” She stated, slipping the menus back into a shelf behind their staff table. “He can't even hold a partner in the Testing Squadron for your company, why do you keep asking him to be in the wedding as your maid of honor? Maki or I would do it perfectly fine!”

Takahiro frowned at the slight hurt in his cousin's voice.

No, it's not that I value him more than I value you or Maki,” He stated, slipping into a rare form of seriousness. “It's that I don't want him to be so... isolated from everything like he is right now, I need to find him a new testing partner, and everyone I've tried, even THROUGH the special AIM channel I made, no one wants to even chat with him because they all know who he is.”

Momo giggled, daintily covering her open mouth with her white gloved hand.

I know, he is so adorable though,” He sighed. “If he wasn't such a cold hearted jackass, I'd have asked him to take me out a long while ago.”

Taka rolled his emerald eyes at the girl who was filled with too much wishful thinking.

Baby,” He chuckled. “You and I both know that he'd-”

Well, the problem with Saikon II is the fact that the battle system is horrible!” Takahiro's eyes widened at the mention of one of his soon-to-be son in law's many games. He turned his head towards the direction of the voice and saw a pretty girl covered from head to toe in one of his favorite Baby sweet lolita designs with raven curls like Momo's, and adorable baby blue eyes. Her face was twisted as if it were in pain from discussing the video game with another woman, a few years older than she in a pink wa-lolita kimono style dress.

I think that if Kaiba had put more thought into being able to, oh, I don't know... a battle system that actually made sense instead of his random slot machine, dice and guess a number, then the game would be slightly less annoying; the damn game took me a whole 24 hours to beat because I had to spend three whole damn hours just getting used to the battle system!”

Takahiro had just taken a sip of a Shirley Temple, and almost dropped his glass at the girl's rant. Twenty-Four... hours?! His eyes widened and looked back at the gir. She must be one of those legendary gamers, the ones who are so amazing it was insane, but not know it. Twenty-Four hours... Sesshoumaru, the best and fastest and most in-depth gamer at Lock Inc. had taken a full seventy-two hours to complete ninety-five point six percent of the game. This girl was amazing.

Did you unlock all the special characters, though, honey?” The older woman asked. “Because I believe that a lot of the game play for that particular game is in the secret characters.”

The girl rolled her eyes.

Secret characters?” She asked. “There were only three; and all pretty shitty ones too; their story lines lacked so much depth that it felt like I was in a kiddy pool when I wanted to be in an actual swimming pool.”

That was it. Takahiro smirked and rose from his seat at the table a few feet away from the mother-daughter combo. That girl was going to be his.

- - - - - - -

It was finally time for dessert, Kagome's favorite part of Momo's Cafe. Sure she sold really nice meals since she had hired that new cook, but her desserts were still the biggest reason why the raven haired girl was so in love with the Lolita woman's fine establishment.

I'd like a Momo Parfait, along with a milk coffee please!” She flashed a goofy gin towards her mother.

Anyways, as I was saying,” She continued answering the question her mother had posed to her earlier. “I think that Kaiba really needs to fire someone in his office for creating the idea behind that damn battle system!”

Hiromi rolled her eyes and giggled as she took a small sip of her cream soda.

Honey,” She stated. “Maybe it was just an off game?”

Kagome gaped at her mother, her mouth like a freshly hooked fish.

Mother!” She whispered, aghast and shocked that her mother of all people would suggest such a... ludicrous idea. “This is Seto Kaiba we are talking about! His games are NEVER this bad. EVER.”

The girl paused for a moment to straighten out her skirt and smiled at her waitress when the flashy red lolita girl handed her an enchanting little dessert dish and her milk coffee was being served to her in a special crystal goblet, one that she had never before seen at Momo's Cafe.

Aw,” She squealed quietly, trying to keep her fangirl moment down to a minimum. “This is so cute! Come now, Lolita-san, are you going to take off that half mask so I know who I can e-mail Momo about for being so speedy and wonderful?”

The raven haired lolita shook her head and reached back to tighten the pure white mask spattered with red paint in a fashion that looked like fresh blood.

No,” The girl's gaze dropped to the ground as she bowed her apology. “I cannot, I have been told to hide my identity today to add an air of mystery to the cafe today!”

Kagome sighed sadly, but nodded as the waitress excused herself. She couldn't help but stare after the girl's delicate frame.

Someone wants a number.” That statement snapped Kagome out of her thoughts as she turned to her mother, who shook her head.

I didn't say that, sweetie.” She answered, taking another dainty sip of soda.

No, Kagome thought to herself. That sounded like a man's voice.

I did!” The two women turned to their right; the source of the mysterious voice.

Kagome had to fight to keep her mouth from falling to the floor in shock. The stranger was handsome, enough so to rival the sexy men who worked for Kaiba Corp. as well a Lock Inc. His unnatural midnight blue black hair was splayed without any hair product, lightly touching his ebony jacket's matching mink collar. The man's eyes were hidden by dark shades, and a quick appraisal of his looks told Kagome this man was rolling in money; and lots of it.

I'm sorry sir,” She muttered politely. “But would you mind telling this young girl why you have interrupted her dinner?”

The typical Lolita response; always be polite and formal.

The stranger smirked and waltzed up to their table; for a moment Kagome wasn't sure if he had walked or simply... glided.

Oh,” The man seemed taken aback by Kagome's ultra politeness. He nodded his head and gave the two women a small bow, offering his own politeness in return. “I was just sitting a little ways away from you, and I couldn't help but notice your conversation.”

About Saikon II?” Kagome's smiled dropped and instantly morphed into a pout. “I hated that game, do you really want to talk about it?”

The man removed the sunglasses he was wearing, revealing two sparkling sea green eyes. Taking a second glance at the man's face, Kagome realized that she probably shouldn't have said one of Seto Kaiba's games sucked.

Oh my,” She whispered. “Belmont Takahiro-san?”

The man bowed his head and withdrew a small card from his pocket.

Why yes, that is I,” He replied, slipping the piece of plastic into Kagome's numb hand. She couldn't believe she'd ever have the luck of meeting Lock's looney CEO. It was almost like a dream come true, but just a few scenes short of an OVA. “Just how often do you play video games, my dear...?”

He held out his hand as if asking for something, and Kagome obliged.

Higurashi Kagome,” She supplied for him. “And all the time, every moment of my free time, it seems.”

Well,” He smirked, rubbing his hands together in excited glee. “How would you like to make money while testing un-released games?”

Her sapphire eyes gleamed with excitement as Takahiro's words settled in her brain.

Really?” She asked. “A Game Tester? I'd love to! What would I have to do?”

Her new boss smiled and handed her a new card, a small white card stock with a single line of text.

That would be the SN of my Head Game Tester,” He explained. “You do use AIM, right?”

Kagome looked back at her potential new boss with weary eyes.

Yeah, who doesn't use AIM nowadays?” She asked. The tall, handsome gay man laughed and patted her square on her frilly head.

Just asking,” He smiled and turned back to his table. “You start tonight, your contact's name is Kuro, I'll call you in a few days to ask how you're doing, and how your first payment is going to come to you.”

Kagome smiled, and for the first time, felt extremely happy through and through, not just that fake, shallow emotion that she had to pull over her head to seem like a normal girl.

I can't wait, Belmont-san!” He nodded and replaced the sunglasses on his face.

Neither can I, sweet Kagome,” He whispered to himself, out of range of the girl's human hearing. “This is going to be fun!”

The CEO reached into his pocket to call his nephew for the second time that day; unable to keep the news to himself about Sesshoumaru's new partner.
