Challenge for January 11th, 2009:  'Uncomfortable'

Kagura stormed from the room in swish of silken robes, her ruined hair falling, leaving the decorative feathers she wore behind her.

Kagome stood griping her torn Kimono closed, trembling all over. The situation was fraught with its own particular evils and mortifications and having Kagura openly display her hostility on such an occasion was unsupportable.

Cool wind blew through the shogi screen, tossing the feather upon the futon. Sesshoumaru's long fingers plucked it from the rumpled bedding and he approached his distraught concubine.

Kagome hid her face from him, her shame was complete, but this would not do for Sesshoumaru. He placed the feather under her chin and gently urged her to lift her face to him, it glowed from shame and her eyes were bright with tears.

Even the attack of his wife could not diminish the youthful beauty of the conquered Princess he held before him, he would not allow his jealous wife to ruin this night for him.

Sesshoumaru spoke gently to her, assuaging her fears and bringing her back to the futon to continue his night of Lordly rights.
