Desperate Times and Desperate Measures
I'm going to be doing a weekly drabble series to, hopefully, get me out of this rut so I can finish my other stories. Usual disclaimer, don't own Inuyasha, or any of the characters. No profit, just ego.

They were surrounded, the enemies having made tight circles around both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Normally, such a thing wouldn’t matter, the lord of the west would usually have cut through any offensive with ease and been on his way; but these particular enemies were powerful priestesses. Young and naive to the danger they were in, but powerful all the same.
They moved closer, their power nearly suffocating, Sesshomaru could feel his power draining, and his physical form began to fade. He knew if he lost the power to keep his physical form, he would be destroyed; he had to figure something out.
Inuyasha screamed in pain, interrupting Sesshomaru’s thoughts with, in his opinion, an over dramatic response. Glancing over, he noticed the half-demon’s hair had turned dark and his ears had disappeared; the purification had reverted him to his solely human form.
The irony was not lost on Sesshomaru that the weakness he berated in his brother would be the strength that saved Inuyasha while damming himself.
One of the priestesses drew a dagger and moved closer to the human Inuyasha, ready to put the creature out of its misery permanently.
‘Or maybe not’
Sesshomaru fell to his knees, unable to stand, he had another few minutes of his physical form left at the most, and no safe place to escape too, or inhabit nearby, until he regained his strength. That’s when the thought struck him, he nearly vomited in disgust. He couldn’t, he wouldn’t, better to die. The mighty lord of the west destroyed by a few pubescent priestesses, his legacy forever ruined. With that grim thought, he knew what had to be done.
“Inuyasha!” he barked “I will get us out of this, but do not fight me!”
“Fight you?” Inuyasha snapped back. “I’m too busy trying to fight them, what do you mean not fight, wait. NO! DON’T YOU DARE!”
The now human hanyou’s pleas were ignored as his older brother summoned what little remained of his yokai and lashed it out at the priestesses. The force disoriented them just long enough to buy Sesshomaru the precious few seconds he needed. He quickly dissolved his physical form and flew towards Inuyasha, the orb of light that was his spirit, disappearing into Inuyasha's chest.
