Chapter 1

Kagome stared at her group, Kikyo had joined their group a few months ago. She could sense Inuyasha had mated her, but they always still hid their affections from her. Anymore her group had acted as if they didn’t care about her, except for Shippo and Kirara. Would they notice if she were gone if she chose to leave? They had Kikyo now to sense the shards, what did they need her for? Kagome got up, she started walking away, Shippo watched as she walked away, he bounced after her,

“Mama, are you alright?” Shippo asked,

“I’m fine, I just need a moment to myself.” Kagome smiling, she knew he could sense her sadness, he was a demon after all.

“I love you mama.” Shippo giving her a sad look,

“I love you too Shippo.” Kagome patting his head. She turned and walked away. A few minutes later she found herself sitting on a cliff.

~When did I get to be this big charity case?~ Kagome staring down below,

~All I have ever done was try to help people, to help the people who I love and now they repay me like this?~ Kagome thought as tears rolled down her face. Sesshomaru had been traveling the lands and now was taking a walk nearby his camp. He smelt the miko’s scent nearby, he wrinkled his nose, usually she had a calming scent but tonight something was definitely wrong, his curiosity got the best of him and decided to pay her a visit.

Kagome was too busy thinking to herself to notice he stood right behind her. After three minutes of being ignored Sesshomaru opened his mouth to speak,

“What do you want Lord Sesshomaru?” Kagome’s voice void of emotion. Her voice, which usually held such love and emotion, sounded dead, she had given up on everything.

“Miko, where is your group?” Sesshomaru asked.

“They don’t care about me anymore, they have a new shard detector, I mean nothing to them anymore. I am just a big charity case for everyone. Inuyasha has mated Kikyou, they hid their relationship to spare my feelings. My mom spends money that she doesn’t have so I can keep coming here and keep searching for the jewel shards because its my responsibility. Grandpa keeps making up excuses to why I can’t attend school.

Hell, the only person who noticed I was leaving was Shippo, and you, you only want me around to help teach Rin and to help when she is sick. And I can’t even bring myself to fling myself off this cliff because I am too afraid to.” Kagome explained in a monotone voice. Sesshomaru didn’t know how to respond to her, he stared at her back, he could smell her tears, her sadness ran deep.

“Throwing yourself off this cliff is the pathetic way, life is harder, even for demons.” Sesshomaru coolly.

“I wish I could just disappear, no one would care. They lost their love for me when she came into the group.” Kagome mumbled. Sesshomaru had no words to rectify how she felt. He had noticed that her group was pulling away from her, but he wasn’t about to take on another human. Sesshomaru turned to walk away,

“Thank you Lord Sesshomaru.” Kagome explained,

“I do not pity you miko, pity and depression are useless emotions. I do not waste my time on such. However, if you did leave, who would care for the kit, Rin would be disappointed as well.” Sesshomaru explained.

“Shippo would find someone else and Rin always has you.” Kagome not bothering to turn around. Sesshomaru walked away, leaving her to think, though his night would be a restless one.

~The miko has done a lot for her pack, not to mention for Rin. She has done a lot for the people who she came into contact with. The Kami praises her by giving her so called friends who do not seem to care for her anymore. It is not right, she has a large heart and it is not right for people to take advantage of her, especially you.~ his beast explained. Sesshomaru ignored his beast and fell asleep.
