Snowfall

Sleep eluded him but seemed to have found Kagome as he heard her snoring on the floor above his, where the guest room he had been working on was located. Nightmares soon found her as well though as he could soon hear her sniffling, whimpering, and shifting about.

Soon footsteps echoed through the half built mansion before a soft knock sounded at his door.

"You may enter," Sesshomaru said softly, glancing to the doorway to see the miko in a disheveled shape as she entered into his room.

"May I...sleep with you tonight? Sorry, I'm just too terrified to sleep alone," Kagome asked in a very soft and insecure sounding voice.

She wasn't the only one that was suffering emotional trauma at the present time however, he just had the years on her for suppressing it. That and she was definitely ahead of him on the amount suffered in such a short period of time.

"You may...however in fair warning I may end up doing more to you than just permitting you to sleep alongside me," he would give her at least that bit of warning. Her voluptuous form was quite enticing yet he knew she was in a very vulnerable state of mind. With the two of them being in such close proximity in such a state of relative undress it would take much for him to resist in indulging in her physically, although normally he was the role model for restraint his mind was muddled by the day's events and any distraction was a welcome one.

At first things proceeded well enough and she slept soundly, however chill winds from an approaching cold front proved to be his undoing as she instinctively snuggled closer to him for warmth. When she breathed his name in her sleep he grabbed her and lifted her onto him as he awoke her with a passionate kiss on her lips. She was surprised that he was actually doing this with her but soon found the distraction just as welcoming as he was.

The windows of the bedroom soon became quite foggy as a light snowfall started outside.
