How She Came to Be - Prologue

A/N: Hello! Nice to meet you! This is my first time writing a fanfiction ever. I don't think I will be able to post/update fanfiction at a regular basis, but I do hope you enjoy it! Reviews are welcome, but maybe harsh remarks can be cut down a bit, right? Thank you and Happy Reading! (I do not own InuYasha.)

She was once an innocent, open-hearted girl that was willing to welcome anyone with open arms even after hurting her. Mei was the girl whom everyone loved dearly and care deeply.   

However, Mei was no longer the same girl when she was ordered by the Eastern Lord to join his court.   

When she had refused and politely declined his request to do so, Lord Ito, the Eastern Lord, was furious and enraged. His dignity and pride as a man and the lord of the Eastern Palace was undervalued now. Silently, he promised himself to take away all the things she valued...  

One by one, Mei feared for her own family as she saw how her friends and all the villagers of the town turned hostile towards her. When one of the village’s women cried, “I lost my son because of your innocence and pride that refused to give in to the Lord!”, Mei soon realised that a change was taking place, because Lord Ito was mad at her for kicking his ego. It had seriously affected him.   

Mei, knowing that her family and friends would soon be threatened to be killed and being the kind girl who always tried to protect others before herself, left her home to join Lord Ito’s court.   

Although Lord Ito was satisfied with the fact that the insolent onna was being a bit more subservient, he still had this desire that wished to continue breaking her.  

While he had not initially thought to tie her to him by mating her and making her his bitch, he had this idea going around in his head.   

“Is it truly worth making her fully submit to me? Or should I take one of the power-hungry bitches instead?” he wondered to himself, with an evil smirk.   

“Is she truly worth the power I will give to her?”

That was when a loud cry was able to be heard from outside.  

“What is it? A boy or a girl?” Mei asked. She was currently panting and sweating from the birth of her newborn pup.   

“It is a ‘she’, Lady Mei… I’m sorry…” the midwife sadly said.   

“NOOOOOO~!!!!”   

Mei’s sorrowful cries were able to be heard throughout the entire palace, and of course, the father of the inuyoukai pup, Lord Ito, was also one to know as soon as Mei gave birth.  

Mei had only wished that this child would have been a boy. That way, she would not have been needed as much as before like Lord Ito wanted her: as a concubine and a bitch to fuck with.

As Lord Ito rammed into Mei’s tight sheath, Mei cried out her release, causing both of them to fall on the bed.   

Soon, the panting started to decrease, and Mei started speaking.   

“Lord Ito, I have a proposition,” Mei spoke very quietly.  

“Very well. Since you have been a good bitch this evening and for the past multiple nights, I will allow one wish."  

At the statement, Mei tightened her fists underneath the white sheets which stained with her blood and the remnants of their past activity. How dare he call her a bitch! 

Trying to remain calm, Mei spoke, “Knowing that I have been with you long enough to conceive, I propose this: If the child that I give birth to is male, let me leave and do not try to find me anymore. You may take the pup, but you shall not ever find or even TRY to find me."  

Lord Ito then asked, “If the pup you give birth to is female, what shall you do?"  

Mei became silent. She had not thought about giving birth to a female pup, in high hopes of giving birth to Lord Ito’s male heir and quickly leaving the castle.   

That was when Lord Ito started speaking. “If she is female, you shall remain with the pup, until the pup is ready to leave my lands and ready to be mated to other lords. Understood?"  

Mei, knowing not to be disobeyed by now, quietly nodded as she thought about the circumstances of what might possibly happen if she gave birth to a female pup.   

Lord Ito smirked at her nod and added, “I guess you also understand that if this pup that you have is a female, you will forever be tied to be me, correct?"  

Mei gaped in terror and suddenly realised that she had dug her own grave by proposing such an idiotic suggestion.

Now that Mei had no choice, she calmly grabbed a knife from the tray she had been eating from and stabbed the midwife, the only person in the room.   

She had not been even in the Lady’s birthing chamber, despite being a Lady of the Eastern Palace. Lord Ito treated her like a bitch and a concubine, and he only sent her one single midwife when he was notified that his mate was about to give birth.   

After checking that she was dead, Mei prepared to slice her own wrist as she gazed at her precious baby with eyes full of tears.   

“I’m sorry…"  

That was when Lord Ito and his servants scented blood and death, as well as his newborn female pup, rushed into the entrance of the room.    Mei, shocked to see the red eyes of her mate, quickly sliced her wrist with the knife she was holding. She then quickly wrote “Sadame” with her blood on her pup’s chest and smiled sadly at her now crying pup. As she drew her last breath, she spoke, “Goodbye, my dear Kagome. Your destiny will guide you, my musume…"  

Lord Ito took his newborn pup away from the arms of his now dead mate. The pup struggled to get away from her own father but to no avail.   

As Lord Ito ordered his servants to send his newly-born daughter away to a village far far away, Mei’s spirit lingered only for a bit to lightly kiss her daughter’s cheek and go to heaven, where she belonged now and would later guide her pup through the hardships she would face in the future.
