I'm not trying to drop a text wall on your reviews area, but I'm sure this will be looonnnngg, as I didn't review chapter by chapter.
This story is AMAZING. Normally, I am not a big fan of AU, but I liked the name of the title and decided to give it a chance. (btw-I am glad to NOT find anyone in the story actually dancing with scissors...I like stories with more metaphorical or nonesense-icle titles!) The way you set up the story and developed the characters, this whole thing could totally stand on it's own, with or without the Canon Inuyasha plot behind it. Yes, compared to canon your characters are somewhat OOC, but that's actually one of the things I liked about it. I think you could have re-named the characters and this would have been a wonderful romance novel, without stepping on anyone's toes. It is obviously uniquely yours. Your choice to go with what you know and place the characters in NY was clearly genius. I don't know how it would have turned out should you have placed them in Japan, but clearly your experience with the city had a major impact on your story. It flowed so well!
I loved the way you portrayed Rin. The cute things she said were great, and her role as somewhat-silent observer of other's feelings was great. The humor of some of her mis-pronounciations overall attitude; the way you described her feelings at the loss of her parents (obviously she was devastated but you didn't make it over-the-top epic).
As for Kagome's character...I LOVE her! I love cannon Kagome, but this Kagome is like the woman I always wanted to be...and although in reality I've only achieved her foul mouth and sexual competence, I loved placing myself in her role in the story.
Sesshomaru, was very well played. He really wasn't as OOC as I originally thought you were going to make him. It kind of felt like if Sesshomaru was a real live person and not a demon in the plot of Inuyasha, that THIS Sesshomaru you created WOULD BE HIM.
The elder Tashios were perfect. Another example of very real seeming people, with normal and believeable habits, frustrations, and feelings.
I love that you managed to portray Naraku as someone who was both dispicable and caring...not something easily accomplished.
I loved the pigheadedness of Kagura in her singular persuit to show Sesshou why she should be the one for him. However you painted her so well in that role that I had a hard time believing she could ever be kind to Kagome in the end...although easy to believe Kagome would offer an olive branch.
Sticking "Bank" and "Jak" in as a gay couple was pure genius, really! When they were first introduced I was like "Bank? What kind of a name was that?" Then a little later I realised they were Bankotsu and Jakotsu. Well played!
Sango and Miroku were perfect, as were Kouga, Ayame, and Kanna.
The frequent trips back in time to describe Kikyou and Inuyasha's lives were heartfelt and well written. They made sure that although those characters had died at the begining of the story (so sad btw, but understandably necessary), they were not forgotten and played a very major role in the overall plot.
I loved all the litte tid bits you added in to refer to the cannon characters - Rin's "beauty parlor" with Sesshomaru to create his cannon look, Kagome's descision to dress Kanna all in white and how it made her look etheral. Every little piece like that was so well done, creating a conjuration in the reader's mind of the cannon characters who were the basis for YOUR characters.
There were so many little humorous points throughout the plot that I really laughed at, so many little memories of the past felt and/or seen through the characters and their respective feelings on those issues that made me actually tear up. Despite all the amazing (and varried) detail added in (and their was a LOT), I never got bored with any of it. I enjoyed reading all the little details bout Sesshomaru's business, Jak & Bank's relationship and Inn, Kagome's artwork, everyone's love of a plethora of different types of music, the way the Tashio's residence looked...just...everything!
I really feel like I could go on forever and continue to point out everything I loved about this story, but I think I will stop here. Please, PLEASE for the love of all things holy, if you ever write a real book - about ANYTHING, please let me know? I would be VERY interested in reading it, I'm sure!
I am posting this out of complete curiousity. Is this the last chapter. I have been waiting for a new chapter to come in and I keep wondering if this is your last chapter. I love this by the way

Yay for baby! Beautifully done as always Miss Pirate! Can't wait to see what happens at Thanksgiving! :)
This story is crazy good. The only other Sess/Kag fanfic that's made me cry, cringe, laugh, and be fuzzy as much as this one has is HoTM. My personal opinion is that this story is one of the greats. Not simply wonderful because it has our favorite hot taiyoukai and temporally displaced miko, but because it is a story that stands unique and strong despite the use of unoriginal characters. You have placed your own personal touches on every aspect of this story and I thank you for sharing it us.
I don't know if you plan to write more or not, but I sincerly hope you do. I very much look forward to reading them.

Gotta comment on the thing about Kagome being called Kags and not liking it. I LOVE that you added this, because I had issues with an unwanted nickname. My real name is Anne, and people had always, especially when I was little, wanted to call me Annie. I detest Annie. Hate it. But people would call me that despite my objections, not taking me seriously because I was small. When I complained to my Great Grandma, she gave me the best advice ever. She was an old lady raised in the Victorian era, and her answer was simple... almost Imperial. "Anne, you must insist that they call you by your proper name. Anne is the name of a queen. Annie is the name of a washer woman." That attitude gave me the strength to demand that I be called by my proper name. And your bit in this story reminded me of that. I kind of love you for it.
It honestly amazes me how you are able to inject this with so much REAL emotion... I'm amazed. And I love it. And my heart swells with Kagome's joy and revelations. Love it. I was a bit surprised to find out that they had gotten married. I couldn't remember if that had been something discussed in the previous chapter, however, I like how everything is coalescing and Kagome, Shesshoumaru, and Rin are all a family with the new baby. (WEIRD! But exciting and happy! Yay!)
Oh, I shed a tear because it's over!! This truly was one of the most amazing pieces of fanfiction I have ever read and I have read a lot of them. Every character had a heart and soul that jumped off the page..err..screen and I could always see this story playing out in my head. I wish it could go on for another 37 chapters but all good things must come to an end and what and end it was. This last chapter was so beautiful and heartwarming yet it still retained the quick witted humorous side that this story has always had. Thank you so much for bringing this work of art to life. You truly do have an amazing gift to tell a story and you should be proud of the gift you have. This one will forever remain on my reading list and whenever I need a story to make me laugh, cry, scream, cheer and any other emotion you can think of, this will be it. Thank you!
