It hurts to read, and at some point I want the happy ending. I am just no sure that it would ever possible for someone who only knows duty. It was excellent, and I will patiently wait your next installment.

Thanks for the re-direct. Things certainly make more sense now and are more sad now than ever.
You have done a rather good job of writing these pieces as far as characterization goes. I have some trouble with some Sess/Kagome because my OTP is actually I/K and most S/K pieces completely demonize Inuyasha. You haven't done this. He isn't a horrible person from the get-go. He's a product of his time and upbringing and he's real. Also, Kagome still loves him, she just can't accept what he is doing to her.
I'm interested in where this is going to go in the future. Despite sniffing over Kagome's loss, I'm wondering where Sess and Rin will end up in the end. I'm interested in whether or not Inuyasha will realize what he's done to his wife, the woman that he loves.
Thanks for writing for us!

Hi! :) Just wanted to let you know I've put this piece up for a couple of awards - Best Serial over at IYFG, and Best Canon here at Dokuga. I have my fingers crossed for you, especially at the IYFG (still a bit leery of the QC/CC there...
*thinks positive thoughts*
Cheers!
aw, that's a sad chapter! but i can't wait for the day Kagome leaves Inu and turns to Sess's side. ^^ lol
this is one of my favorite oneshot series I've read. You have a real talent for it ^.^
What I love most is how you've allowed their relationship to evolve with hardly any words exchanged. It's eloquent, soft, and fantastically in character, even Kagome's depression. Your writing shines like the pastoral scenes you describe, but the sadness is equally pervasive. You've done an amazing job weaving both together. I think my favorite, gasp-at-its-poignancy moment was the allusion to Inupapa's last request of Sesshoumaru. I found it interesting that while he was learning it with Rin, he was aware of it with Kagome. It was a lovely epiphany for him.
I'm quite the fan of these drabbles. Wonderful work!
hikari, i love these selections. i eagerly await each update and long for more. you are wonderful authoress and i hate sitting bye and waiting for these but it is worth it. :D
emmaren (Chapter 4) - Thu 16 Oct 2008
This makes me ache. I am impressed with your ability to convey such a meaning in so few words. Please, however this ends, take it all the way. I will eagarly read every word.
Possessed (Chapter 4) - Thu 16 Oct 2008
You write so beautifully, I eagerly read whatever you choose to give... Thank-you for these.
You know, I have just read all three and I find them exquisite. You have stuck to canon wondrously so. Rather nice and looking forward to more. Innovative, clever and beautifully written.
Brava!

I'm going to say that this is a most unexpected fic, because so often, and i myself fall into this category, an author will just throw them together. Sure there maybe be a few chapters of build up before it happens but none the less, rarely do we find those willing to put the work in to make a reasonable connon fic turn into a Sess/Kags fic. As i'm sure the majority of us feel its hard to see the modern girl cave in and conform to the old world love that Kikyo had. Often i find myself thinking that Rumiko T, copped out. I know the cultures different and there are far more in love with the idea that the classic beauty falls for the rough emotionally challenged brat, but to take the cannon and truly make it realistic is beautiful, slow yes, but i'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I look forward to it. wonderful update. - r0o
AHHH....you made me go all shrivelly with the tension.....
Why do I get the feeling this is angling towards a big, fat, Sess/Kag in a few more chapters' time? Lol. But I loved it....you've portrayed all three characters very well, and I love the way Sesshoumarutakes care of his family!
LC Rose (Chapter 3) - Fri 10 Oct 2008
I am finding myself agree with SugarOo. This is a wonderful and unexpected piece. I love the way they are slowly forming into something more. And I am looking forward to what else you have in store for us.
I'll just go right along with everyone else and say I'm also impressed you're choosing to stretch this out for the sake of realism. It would take a lot for Kagome to fall out of love with Inuyasha in canonverse and into love with Sesshoumaru, especially considering the hanyou revelation. Their children would wind up in Inuyasha's position, wouldn't they, and I don't know how she'd handle that knowledge when the time came to choose. For a random idea, and Lord knows I don't *want* to thwart any future SK moments, but if Inuyasha got her pregnant on his human night, wouldn't the child just be human? Couldn't it live in that case? I know, I know!!! What dastardly, underhanded plot is this to keep SK apart! I couldn't help it... still, your writing is eloquent and deeply emotive. I'm already smitten and hope to read more!
Lil miss random (Chapter 3) - Fri 10 Oct 2008
wow this is amazing. U rarely find a story where the author has made a real effort to keep it canon( not saying there isnt some great fics out there) You have done a awesome job keeping them all in character! Please keep up the good work and post the next chapter soon? Please!
my hero!*sighs sappily*
really interesting...hmm...I wonder if Kaggy and Sessy have kids if they'll be full youkai or something so that they can reproduce...I'd hope so so Kagome can have grandkids
Oh, I am so very looking forward to this. I adore a long, realistic canon-buildup to their relationship. The moments you've chosen are so powerful and loaded with meaning..I think, especially, that Sesshoumaru's gift to the pregnant Kagome becomes all the more thoughtful in light of the fact that he knew tragedy awaited her. How unforgivable though that Inuyasha kept that from her.
Nobody (Chapter 2) - Tue 30 Sep 2008
aw hikari i love it. I cant wait for the next challenge it was wonerful.
while this made me utterly sad, it was lovely in a tragic way. very beautiful and a wonderful job at it as well.
Oh my God, heartbreaking. It's such a startling and original take on the challenge prompt, too. With Sesshoumaru's private declaration, I'm eager to see where you take this. Amazing chapter.
