I really enjoyed reading this. I think for me it was the description that got to me more than anything. The story was short but the descriptions were on point and the story flowed correctly- not rushed or too slow. I'm pretty sure that I'll b reading this again and again.
Beautiful! As always, Stella, you amaze me with your ability to create such vivid imagery using so few words. It's hard to pick a favorite image, but the phrase "Forest wine and wildness" really stood out to me. So Bacchic and lovely, I could see the sunlight streaming through a canopy of ancient trees.
The loss, the desperation is so tangible in this. All those centuries gone by, and yet they remain, striving to resurrect dead passion and parse the long empty hours with a few moments of pleasure. So achingly bleak, yet lovely at the same time.
They've fallen into a cycle they can't break. That "peal of golden silence" at the end says it all. :')
Ugh, I'm gushing, aren't I? Oh well, your writing brings it out in me! So happy to see another stunning new piece from you, girl! <3
