Even though I never had any military upbringing either by schooling or profession, your description of the cadets' schedule and the way you detalied the Mess scene etc., your story brought me nostalgic memories of my boarding school days. Food was scarce but there was even less time to eat the measly ration--needless to say I was a hungry child; water was scarce too--so we barely bathed; we felt lucky on days when we could both drink and bath---there was never any warm water, during winter mornings it was below 0 degree celsius; we also had to wake up at 5:00 am when it was still pitch dark outside and jog for an hour... did i mention the school was/is still located 6000 metres above sea level and eternally freezing...Now that I think about it, I wonder why I never complained to my parents about it? Ah! now I remember, we had a brilliant library, awesome fetes and socials...

I feel strong every time I remember those years... I had forgotten how to endure... thank you for the story:)

And it's something that I personally can semi relate to as my brothers are in the military.

Niiice, I love the kickass Kagome. A question though; will Kagome be having miko powers here? Does she have thim already but is unwilling to use them? Or she hasn't come into them yet(though, unlikely in my opinion)? Anyway, it's a good story, and has the potential to be great. Keep it up :)
