Thank you for this very sad fic.

That was a stunning representation. The pacing lent the story the sense of panic and fear that I know I would be experiencing if I heard that kind of news. Like I'm sure many other parents felt, when I heard the news it cuts to the quick. My daughter is the same age as some of those who were so tragically involved with the shootings. 

   Thank you for honoring them by helping us never to forget and to help us understand just some of what they might be experiencing. I know my family is praying for all who are effected by the shootings.

This is sad.

What happened yesterday was a terrible trauma and I believe for those who survived and witnessed it, you captured the feelings damn near perfectly in your story. We pray for the parents, the kids, and all who were lost. Like the father yesterday that was interviewed, he has to go back to his kids and teach them differently after the week before he told them that a shooting like that was a one in a zillion chance to happen where they are. That was a gamechanger for him and a wake up call for the rest. This is not a safe world by any means, and it's time wee teach our kids that as well. I say this as a parent who had to explain this to her 7 year old daughter yesterday. A tragedy indeed.

I live in CT and this is just a surprise to me as anyone else. This state has been so under the radar that even some Americans I've met did not know of CT and now this happens. The world now knows about this little state. My heart goes out to the families and I cannot understand why the killer targeted kids. Just not fair...
