That was great.
*lets out long breath* Wow. This was an interesting perspective, and it flowed extremely well. Those last two sections...just unf. They pulled at something within me, demanding that I pay attention. The second to last one was such a heady and dizzying experience because it was described so perfectly in this haze of lust and need, almost to where I if her were speaking, I would be able to hear the husky-ness in his voice. Then the last one...was just not sad because he is determined to have every moment he can, but definitely bittersweet. He was victorious in the battle to have her, but he will be unable to keep her. Mortality is a battle that he cannot truly win against, and you feel for him because despite everything, he fell for her. "When did breathing become so difficult?" and "Praying (you don't pray, you don't, except you are) for more time, for more breath, for more, because more greedy than even time and death is love, and you are a prisoner inside of your own need." are just...they pack one hell of a punch, Hat.
This was a phenomenal piece, and will enjoy re-reading it over and over.
