I absolutely loved this story... it reminded me of my college days when I had friends from India, Indonesia, Japan, and Afganistan (before the first rumblings of war - I'm ancient!). You did a wonderful job of evoking the local color, but also the awkwardness of being a foreigner in a land of old, set traditions. The ending was a perfect balance as well... no foolish declarations of love and forever, but a realistic start of a relationship in a place such as Tokyo (which I've been told is hugely different than anywhere else in Japan).
And I don't know if anyone answered the question about okra in Japan... they love it! It's soft and slimey, sort of like natto.
The haori only hmm? Sesshomaru you dog! Ha ha! Perhaps you would consider a one-shot of a sequel set into the future for this story.....maybe a wedding day or several years (and a couple of children) later they have come back to India to visit (or perhaps to move back there) old friends...... Great story! Thanks for writing it!
Thank you so much for updating. I always enjoy reading your story and then asking my Indian friends if they know about the food and stuff mentioned in the story. Good luck with law school! I'm a 3L myself so I understand the time commitment that it takes and the need to take breaks as well.

I reckon this would be a slow-build-up kind of story? It would be plenty interesting to learn more of the story in sesshomaru's perspective. The character build-up and such, involve the other lead charscter more in the process to avoid making the story one-dimensional.
I shall keep this in my watch list
Good, keep it coming.
Lovely, keep it coming.
Very interesting chapter.
