I love it!! Getting a glimpse into a very young Sesshoumaru is an awesome experience.  Kagome is going to get to know him in a way no one ever has.  I can't wait for more!!!

Interesting that he says he will follow his father's words of protecting Now. I wonder what changes his mind between now and Inuyasha's birth?

My heart breaks for Sesshoe-pup! I really likke the concept of Kagome learning about Sesshomaru in such a way. Te he I can't wait to see what is said when the hunt for Naraku is on!

Interesting take. Fascinating that there were pups before Sesshomaru which his mother did not permit to live. A version of a canine's sometimes tendency to kill off the runts to better support the strongest, but based on looks? Makes one wonder if any of them would have been stronger than Sesshomaru. I'd like to think not, but then that's because he's my favorite.

Beginning paragraph needs to be fixed. You mention that "the age and wear" made "it rather difficult to make them out the ancient script" twice, back to back even. I'm sure it was simply overlooked.
