LOL I loved the last part, " don’t think Hell is eager to take him back...do you?"
Well, now. So he won, after all. Bullied the poor Queen on Hell into giving him a chance at a happily ever after. I wonder how many people there are who'd leap at that chance...and how many would falter in terror of what that would require of them.
Good thing he's the somewhat-hero of the story, no?
I say somewhat, because his love...it isn't rooted in pure desire and want and need...the root of it is the need for the magic to stay. It's a selfish love, motivated by self-preservation, from what I read. And yet it's true - or he will make it be true. He knows, after all, that Kagome needs someone to love, and why not him, if she must? At least, even if he only wants her, does not love her the wya she loves him, it will make no difference to their happy ending, because he will never betray her, or forget her worth.
And really, that's all that matters, and all any of us can ask for. To be wanted eternally, and honoured eternally, no matter if love exists or not.
::bursts into laughter:: What can he not understand about mortality, indeed! I have the feeling that demon is a right handful...and will be when he dies, too. In fact, I wonder if he will not elect to view hell as another domain for conquest...or perhaps he'll just make enough trouble for them that they'll be glad to to leave him be for the rest of eternity. Then he can choose his very own corner of hell...and make it home. And Kagome will tsk and tsk, and just settle for cuddling his fluffy tail, because she knows what he's like.
And the line....about the jorogumo moving towards Rin in a manner that cannot be described except by screams. I thought that all the J- and K-horror's I've seen had attuned me to the idea of horrible ghost girls...but you just took the cake for giving me nightmares. Because GAH IT'S A KID!
::sighs:: Silly Rin. Brave Rin.
This is why i dislike children in fiction in general - they tend to complicate things far more than they need to be. They just...act like giant plot aneurysms. :/ What she did was perfectly within character, but I suppose...this is just my natural disinclination towards kids showing itself. XD
::schnooglepumpums:: What? I CAN'T HELP IT! 31 stowwy-wanting bottoms! ::pats them all and dishes out many, many cuddlefluffs::
And the old lady is Rin, right? I thought it might be Kagome, but something...old and...a way of stringing words together that could only come from someone who had spoken ancient dialects since their earliest age...it makes me believe that the woman is Rin.
And I'm vastly amused that the only thing disqualifying Kagome from Sesshoumaru's list of "potential mates" was her support of his brother. XD ::snickers::
this is so kewl!!
Wanda (Chapter 4) - Fri 17 Feb 2012
That was the most attention grabbing story I have read in quite a while.
I wasn't expecting it to be. Before I knew it I was hooked.
The ending with Rin being the old story telling surprised me in a good way.
I loved the whole story in case you can't tell.
i LOVE this S0o0o0o0o0o much!
OMFG. WOW. I have you on author alert and when I saw this email about a story called Through Water and Stars I was like...WTH? I've read almost everything you have on Dokuga and I love all of them. But this...this is my favorite. You stirred something inside of me and now I can't wait to get back to my own fics, my own inspiration and to write! A job beautifully well done. ---Fei
