The premise seems very interesting! ^_^ I would personally hope that you play upon the fact that Kagome can read, do arithmatic, and has a stronger personality than most females. Apart from being taller, exotically blue eyed, and with fuller bossom than most girls of this time. I'd even guess more curvaceous.
Have you ever gone to a museum and seen how people o fthe past woudl have looked liek with reocnstruction? They were shorter and their features cruder than ours.
Kagoem also speak English which is a language which coudl be helpful in trade with the Dutch who came. Perhaps German since in modern japan that is a language which is also studied in schools.
The tea ceremony was just varely created in the Sengoku Jidai, and by barely I mean that all the modern accrutements and long ceremonial steps had NOT yet been established-but Kagome as a miko growing up in a traditional shrine owuld know them and therefore be graceful in that manner. While I don't think they credit her with its invention (those long ceremonial steps) her manner coudl be seen as unique and graceful. I remember when I was in Japan when I endured a long 2 hour tea ceremony session from a miko and and my feet hurt from sitting so long in seiza.
Kagome would have covered enough istory to make political contributions as well and I wonder if Sesshoumaru stole her because he knows she's nto from hsi dimension, even though he does not know she is not from the future.
I do hope that he does nto rape her as his personal maid servant but that gradually become interested in her, her bondign with her guard (who is hopefully another sexy demon) can only help matters. Especially if her guard is interested in her, jealousy is nice.
And if Kagoem coudl read better than Sesshoumaru! Not all nobles could read, honestly, only a few could. So paperwork woudl be extremely tediosu for him, add to the fact that she can do arithmetic...
Oh, and Kagome ideas of science are mroe advanced/acucrate than theirs so she coudl help with agriculture, basic hygiene that woudl save many lives in the castle.
Food, Kagoem probably knows more recipes and condiments used to spice up food. Food was another thing that was not as well established in Japan at this time, if I recall right during the Sengoku Jidai Japan copied Korean cuisine since it was thought to taste better than theirs, btu they changed and adapted it.
And bathing, that would be interesting, even if they have sentos and onsens it was not a daily matter, even for nobles (though much MUCH better than Europe) Kagome clea habits would have her smelling clean and fresh (or flowery too) unlike others.
Very interested to see where this develops.
Ciao!
