Huzzah! I really like this so far. Before I go on to Chapter 3 and forget, I must say that that was a beautiful description of the funeral of Brings Water Woman. You are a really talented writer, and, as a Native American myself, I like the respect with which you treat our culture! I'll review again on Chapter 3, but I really had to say that!
Nysrina (Chapter 3) - Wed 15 Jul 2009
Man, you write as much in three chapters as some people do in a complete story!
You should be forgiven for slow updates because weaving history into fiction (and staying as true to recorded facts and perspective) or vice versa is no mean feat. In fact, I think you should be granted diplomatic immunity for the long intervals between chapters because of the enormous effort such labour would undoubtedly need. Hehehe…
I thoroughly enjoyed the personal histories of the characters that you’ve included in the chapters. I see a common ground between Sesshoumaru and Kagome – their mixed heritage and the slings and arrows they have to bear because of that. Would that be the cornerstone for their affection to grow, I wonder?
And, of course, I’m borne away by the rich use of imageries and descriptions, which are integral in a good story. Many stories with good premises and plots falter because there is little or no supporting descriptions of backgrounds and environments; stories cannot sustain itself on dialogue alone. As characters in a play do not act out their scenes with a blank canvas as a backdrop, neither do characters in a story.
In chapter 3, I had a wayward minute wondering what Sesshoumaru would wear or wouldn’t wear in the height of summer. *whistles* May I be forgiven for having the nation all wrong, but I did have an extended Mark-Dacasos-Le-Pacte-Des-Loupes’ fangirl fantasy there. Arr-rooooooo~
unknown (Chapter 1) - Sun 01 Mar 2009
please update it seems like it'll be really interesting
Wow!!! Where do I even start? Jak "Jackson" Jakotsu. I love Jak, and I can't believe you found a way to weave him into this story. Same with Midoriko. And then the raid on the dance, that was so well-written, not overdone but conveying the danger Kagome was in and how brave and resourceful she is. And the man who finds her, it's gotta be Sess. Awesome!
Someday I'll learn not to prejudge au stories. I've been proven wrong so many times, you'd think I'd know better by now. I just read Chapter 1 of The Lord's Son on FF.net. I remember thinking, how can a Inuyasha Christmas story be any good? I was so wrong. Somehow you managed to work Feudal Era Japanese demons into the birth of Jesus story, and make it the most fascinating, compex, and well-reasearched, intelligent thing I've read in a very long time. Wow. So I thought, I'll try another story by Swasdiva. Then, again, I thought, wait, a Western American Inuyasha story? That's got to be just ludicrous. On the other hand, that's what I thought when I passed by "Journey" over and over and over. I was wrong about "The Lord's Son" (I love that title by the way, the son of the Hebrew God, and the son of the Lord of the West, AND, the son of the subsequent Lord of the West, Sesshomaru, very cool), I was wrong about the Sess/Kag story "Journey", and I was obviously wrong about this one. I LOVE it! I love the writing style, I love the characterization, I love the emerging plotline. I love the luxuriously long length of the first chapter. AWESOME!
Possessed (Chapter 3) - Mon 24 Nov 2008
YEAH!!!! Another great chapter! I love this installment... I'd like to be camping in the wilderness with Sess! And you used the word possum!!! How much better can it get? I will keep Chuck off your back if you write another chapter in a reasonable amount of time... ; )
hasu86 (Chapter 3) - Mon 24 Nov 2008
And so I squealed like a crazed little fangirl when I saw this updated because so few stories nowadays make me starry eyed and fall in love all over again. Really now, can you blame me? My roommate was like "what the hell?" when she heard me. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this chapter though. Their interaction was seamless, dialogue crisp and smooth. It was immensely enjoyable to read. I did take the time to go and listen to the playlist and it's such an interesting mix. I noticed a few songs were from the Last of the Mohicans and damn if that isn't one of my fave movies. The score was beautiful. If you haven't already, Clannad's "I Will Find You" is a must listen. So you've just made my night, or rather my early early morning. I'm curious about her vision though, what it means and all that. Hmmm....I eagerly await the next chapter! And I'm so checking out Grey Eagle's Bride! I blame you now for my fixation on Indians that look like Sesshoumaru. =P

I have wanted to read this for a week, but as it is around 20000 words, knew I'd need a proper chunk of time for a thorough read. Well I finally got it and couldn't be happier--very nicely done! Loved every beautiful word, every crafted, honed sentence!
uniquesoul (Chapter 2) - Wed 01 Oct 2008

Holy shit! You updated! Haha, beyond glad to see another chapter, let alone read this wonderful piece of pure awesomeness! After having such a crazy busy weekend, it was nice to just sit down and read this while avoiding the inevitable course work hounding me at every corner. And Jak!! Yaaaay!! I'm so psyched to see him in here and I was smiling like a mad woman when Sesshoumaru appeared. Love it, love it! I have nothing but praise for you. Hopefully I'll see another chapter to this soon, but if a few months roll by, I'll understand. I'm like that too. You know I'll wait forever and a day for you. ;) -hasu

Loved It! I would perfer speedier updates, but i unfortunitly understand! Take all the time u need, just keep updating!!!8D
Hey lass!! Marvelous, wonderfull, awesome... All those words and more wouldn't be enough to describe what I think of your story. I'm feeling like I was just reading a novel... yes, true enough, Inuyasha would have been a better fit for the 'half-breed' thing, but hell! The author is 'Kami' in his own fanfiction, and if you wanted if to be as close to 'reality' as possible, we readers just have to follow your lead, sit back, and enjoy ourselves. And enjoy I did, a lot. ^_^ I'm eager to see what's going to happen when she wakes up XD Please update soon!! Dewa mata
Woo Hoo! While I am sad that it took you so long for this chapter, I am also glad becasue it was great... just like the last one, it left me eagerly wanting the next one. So... hurry up, damn it. :)
Meiki (Chapter 2) - Mon 29 Sep 2008
I love your humor and you write beautifully. It's been a long time since I've read a western (I live in Nebraska so we are kind of force fed it in this area) and yet I love every word! It's exciting, detailed and the character development is amazing! I'm so excited for the next chapter!
Possessed (Chapter 2) - Mon 29 Sep 2008
