This is so gothic, and different from any of your other stories.  I love reading creepy, spooky stories in the autumn...  Sesshomaru is SO in character, which I really like in canon fic.  The ghost MUST be Kagome.  I can't wait to find out how she died, and why she became a wandering spirit.  Could it have something to do with part of her soul being in Kikyo's reanimated body?  Where her friends with her when she died?  Did they dress her in funeral vestments?  Was she buried or cremated?  I am being too morbid, I know, but enquiring minds want to know...

Oh, very interesting! I can't wait to read what happens next! The only thing I would suggest is finding a synonym for 'sorrow' or 'sorrowful'. In one part of your story, you used both words multiple time in just a few sentences.

EX:

"She sobbed, while her frail, ghostly body lurched forward with her immense sorrow. Her waxy pale face was frozen in a mask of sorrow; and Sesshoumaru fought the urge to shudder."

Sorrow is a really great word to use for a situation like this, but in this case it became a bit redundant. Synonyms could be just as powerful.

Overall, a very interesting Prelude! Why is she dead? Is she Kagome? How did she die? I must know...now! :P

This sounds very promising. I do hope you plan to continue it. I guess the only question I have is it Canon Universe after the destruction of the jewel? Or does this just take place in the Sengoku Jidai? Either way, it would be really neat for you to continue this. ^^
