at first i wasnt happy with the ending but then i saw there was an alternate one and i was like AWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME! hehe i prefer the alternate ending hehe, good work :]
You did an awesome job with this story, it was so heartbreaking. I have to agree with the other reviewers, I preferred the alternate ending, it just suited the rest of the story better. I know somebody said that in the manga/anime Kagome is always forgiving Inu, but he never did quite as much to her as what Sesshoumaru did during their marriage in this story. Not to mention I'm quite biased in that I myself would probably never go back to a man that did that to me and can't stand the people who put up with abuse. The original ending just has her forgiving and going back to him far too easily without actually having to do anything regardless of all the abuse he put her through. The alternate ending leaves room for a possible sequel should you choose, but more importantly it shows a stronger, more mature Kagome who, after being put through hell, has finally learned to once again stand on her own and stand up for herself; she's found her self-worth and won't risk losing it again on the off-chance that Sesshoumaru really has changed.
Sesshyskoi (Chapter 6) - Wed 27 Oct 2010
To be honest I love the alternating ending better. As a mother it seems more believible that she would tell him that she couldn't go back out to him, since she didn't want her son to grow up around them fighting and his dad's mistresses; which made this ending more in tune with the real world of cheaters and messed up households(and of course the trust thing is a big fighting factor too). This made this story very good to read. It had me thinking alot. I couldn't help but think about how Sesshomaru really fucked himself over (excuse my lango), and to have Kagome forgive him sooo easily would be so unreal BUT it would be just like her (In the Inuyasha series no matter how many time Inuyasha would sneak off to Kikyo and he would always be caught by her....and she would be mad alittle bit but she would ALWAYS forgive him). Thank you for writing such a good story!

I have always been a fan of this fic. I think I reviewed along time ago, but I love the characterization. You really feeling Kagome and Sesshoumaru's pain. It is beautiful discribed and very believable. I must say I like the alternate ending better. Don't get me wrong a happy ending is great but in this fic it felt forced. Your fic is truley a depiction of really life and life is hard. We make mistakes and have to pay for them. I always felt it would be great to love that deeply and be able to forgive at the drop of a hat but that is the love of a child; the love of an adult isn't like that. Sadly adults remember and are very gaurded. Maybe it is something we do to protect our young or maybe we just become jaded. But either way the alternate ending shows a more grown Kagome and Sesshoumaru. It shows a woman taking charge of her life and a man coming to grips with his own. Sadly you have set the stage for a sequel which you may not want to do but the potential is great and with your writing style it would be beautiful as well. I look foward to reading it if you so choose, if not I am left with Hope like Sesshoumaru which is always a good thing. For what do we get up for in the morning if not Hope that tomorrow will be better than today.

I prefer this alternative ending... it seems somehow more fitting. This ending give the idea that this lovely story can be expanded, so maybe you'll continue the story? I read this years ago and still find it a pleasure to read again and again.
