Inuyasha's refusal to see Kikyo for what she really is is so ANNOYING. Very true to the anime and manga, I don't think the way you portrayed him is a stretch, at all.

I usually prefer a human Kagome, with just the spiritual powers she has from the beginning, perhaps better trained. If she is to have extraordinary powers, I like that you gave her powers of magic, from the well, rather than turning her into a demon or hanyou. It seems more legitimate, somehow. And placing Kikyo's essence into a jewel is interesting, I can't wait to see where you go with that.

I knew there was a reason I hated Kikyo. Seriously, though, in the anime and manga she does some really vile, hateful, dangerous things, and then the characters just go merrily along, treating her as a friend, or at worst, an ally. She NEVER stops treating Kagome like c***, when Kagome had to go to this magic shrine or temple to retrieve her bow, she still tested her and taunted her, and acted as though Kagome was not a genuinely nice, heroic person. It seems like Kagome's friends should hate Kikyo for the way Kikyo treats her. I know a lot of it is done when they aren't looking, but still... So I like the way you have shown the lengths this character is capable of going to.

This is off to a great start. The soul-stealer strikes a suitable ominous note. Can't wait to see where this is going...

I was looking for a good read and happened upon this one. I read the 1st chapter and was sold. I absolutely adore this story. I cry for the pain Kagome has had to go through because of her self-less soul. I cry for the pain Sesshomaru is going through because of her death. This story is fantastic and I can't wait for its closing. Keep up the excellent work.

That was an amazing chapter. I am so excited to find such an intense fanfic to read, I love it!
