I really like this story, I think it has an originality that some are lacking. The idea of a youkai having to come into contact or within scent-range of another's blood to determine if they are mates is a great one. It seems like that kind of restriction makes it more special. This makes it seem that not every pair of youkai could be true mates. I like this a lot. Everyone wants to feel like what they have is special, that it is destiny. Sometimes even if you feel like your destiny is pre-ordained, and that you have no choice in the matter, when you truly embrace it, you will find that most of the time, the fates did not pick incorrectly. At least this is how it should go. Keep up the good work!
