I think Sesshomaru had feelings for Kagome back in the past for him to be so protective of her and then mating her as a sudden distraction.  

He was her sudden distraction as well. lol

To bad about Kagome's mom but then she was doomed the moment that demon possessed her.

What happened in the past to bring this kind of future for Kagome and Sesshomaru?  Is it something that can be changed if Kagome goes back to the past?  What kind of relationship did the two have in the past?
