Great prologue to an upcoming story!  I really like the history of why the Silver Inu are so few in number, as retold by Inu no Taisho.

I do have one issue with the story though, and it may have been an oversight:  according to the elders, upon Sesshomaru's 1053th year, he is to find a mate.  Now, the story started in year 491 when he was five years old.  That made him born in 486 A.D.  By his 1053th year, it will be 1539 A.D.  That is four years before Kagome comes into the past, according to your Author's Note at the beginning.  I suspect that you added 1053 to the first date of 491, but he would be 1058 years old by that time.  Don't take it as criticism, for I am someone who likes math and tries to keep things consistent in my mind. When numbers are thrown at me, I tend to analyze them a bit.  When the numbers don't coincide to what is provided, I tend to mention it.

I look forward to future chapters, for I'm wondering if Sesshomaru is going to recognize Kagome for what she is, or if the elders are going to "acquire" her somehow to give to him.  Should make for some interesting plotlines in the future! :)  Great writing style, keep it up!

I like your story. I think it's brilliant. I like how you started out with Sessho's lineage and his birth mother being a human miko. What a twist in fate for the human hating lord. Tomake things interesting now he has to mate a human miko that is powerful enough to produce an heir. Somehow I get the feeling that his first born will be female. lol
