WhiteRose-Kurama (Chapter 6) - Sun 19 Oct 2008
OMGs! You certainly don't disappoint. I was shocked that Sess would not tell his children the truth. And even more so at the end when he said that the children would kill her if she claimed to be their mother. I'm glad that Sess got slapped alot... but I still don't think that's enough punishment for what he did to Kagome. Now I wonder what will happen now that Kagome's awake. Keep up the good work and I look forward to ur next update. :P
Jessica (Chapter 6) - Sat 18 Oct 2008
I read your author's note and I tried to look at it from different perspectives. After much deliberation, I stand by what I wrote earlier, I think the rape issue was glossed over. We all know she would hate her rapist but that is exactly what Sesshoumaru would be. That's what I was getting at. Rape is not just a physical violation. Rape by definition is an outrageous violation, just like the guy that physically raped her, he emotionally raped her and betrayed her. He destroyed her trust, her sense of security, he reduced her to nothing, he handed her over and turned his back on her. He rejected her during the pregnancy and if the child was not his, I'd hate to see what he would have done. Now he has essentially raised his kids to hate all humans which includes their mother. There needs to be some culpability for that, he doesn't even realize the damage he's done and it seemed like none of it affected Kagome either when in reality it would have. She would have been a different person, she would have been looking at the world through different eyes. That's all I was trying to say. Now I think the story is a very good one and could be an incredible tale. It has completely intrigued me and now I'm looking forward to the journey of how they begin to rebuild and I guess come to terms with one another. My original review was not meant to offend but to talk about my thoughts as I read and give a well thought out constructive review. I apologize if you took it in a manner in which it was not meant.
kagomesirene (Chapter 5) - Fri 17 Oct 2008
i agree with many of the reviewers...you took the rape subject to lightly...sadly that happens more and more in ffs...seems to be quite popular that its no problem that after a rape you can go back to normal life and even forgive the rapist for whatever reason...but that is not reality and it should not be described this way in ffs...rape is about domination, humiliation and violation...i have a friend that was raped and i can tell you that you get scarred for life...she said it was something that you`ll never come over...even after a therapy you cannot forget it and deep down there`s a fear that stays with you day and night (no wonders she`s so afraid to let her daughters go partying)...and she knows what she`s talking about cause it happend 30 years ago to her and it`s still present in her mind...so please try to let kagome reflect a little bit more about this problem to make the story more realistic and better and not just the popular rape no prob happy life plot
thanx
sunset in love (Chapter 6) - Fri 17 Oct 2008
dont worry about the others, love... they just wish and its up to you to decide... what's the phrase again... 'for me to show, for you to learn'.... rape is sensitive subject, only those who are strong mentally will go trough fine, scarred yes, but weakened NO... i know love, i've ben there and now it's just another close chapter of life, you know, time won't stay still right... cute, i still love you key... remember, NEVER LET OTHER BROKE YOU DOWN...
utterchaos247 (Chapter 5) - Fri 17 Oct 2008
actually- i don't think this was too much of a filler chapter, you actually went through and described their feelings (which you kinda failed to do in other chapters, particularly the raping...) this is the kind of chapter that sets a stable mood and feeling for your next chapters, you're getting pretty good at writing
suggestion- maybe a part of the next chapter could give us an insight as to what Kagome has been through while in her coma
WhiteRose-Kurama (Chapter 5) - Thu 16 Oct 2008
I was really surprised that you jumped ahead 20yrs like that. So... just to clear things up, Kagome is in a coma? Can you do a chappie from Kagome's point of view from the point she gave birth? Does she dream for 20yrs? Is she aware what's been going on around her while in her coma? And will she truly forgive sess for what he did? I think you should have Kagome wake up and not remember who Sess is for a little while... then when she starts to remember what happened, she should be very pissed off. Sess should be made to earn her trust and her heart back. That's just an idea. Anyways, I look forward to ur updates and keep up the good work. :P
sunset in love (Chapter 5) - Thu 16 Oct 2008
it's getting better, and i'm getting annoyed... he he he, you see, i'm annoyed that the chapter was not up soon enough... good touch you've got there... hopeful for your next chapter...
Mary (Chapter 1) - Mon 13 Oct 2008
Oh WOW! I don't understand Kagome's need to see him...I mean if I were her, I would be a nervous wreck. To be in a place where you felt safe and secure, then be handed over to the wolves by someone you care so deeply for to be brutally raped more than once. Have his name carved into your body, along with Sesshoumaru's. I would feel like nothing at all. I'm pretty sure she knew Sesshoumaru heard her screams. The issues with the rape and the issues with trust would override my good sense, I'm pretty sure I would have broke down. I definitely wouldn't want to be anywhere near Sesshoumaru, let alone have his baby. Then he's not present at all throughout the pregnancy...isn't he a dog demon? Couldn't he smell the paternity of the child? I am curious to know why he let all of this happen, although I don't think any explanation would bring him good favor in my mind. I hope she finds a way to get away from him!
Jessica (Chapter 4) - Sun 12 Oct 2008
I like your story a lot the thing that bothers me though is the way her being raped, not once but twice, was glossed over. Rape in itself is a violent act meant to demean and control the victim. There are heavy emotional fallouts to that and it seemed they weren't given the proper respect. And to be handed over by someone you love, not to mention she was the "unspoken lady of the western land and most trusted adviser", it just doesn't fit. I mean if that were the case, how could he listen to her screams all night? His offenses, as well as the rapist, are unforgivable. He ignored and avoided her the entire pregnancy, just so sad.....
update soon, i am really angry w/ sesshoumaru, put him through hell! (please...at least for the next few chapters)
Dh7 (Chapter 4) - Sun 12 Oct 2008
I have the same thoughts as jessica on her rape. Though I know men are stupid and could let this happen because of pure stubborness. I wish for Sessho to be put through what kagome went through.
Shae15 (Chapter 1) - Sat 04 Oct 2008
I luv thir fic
momo (Chapter 2) - Sat 04 Oct 2008
there is one thing that is bothering me. In chapter one, it mentions how kagome is the unspoken lady of the western land and that sesshomaru considers her as his most trusted advisor.. so i don't understand why even easily agrees to let kagome grace another's bed, even if he does think something is going. Shouldn't even he just be highly possessive or suspicious?
It started out nicely... I look forward to reading the next chapter... I do have a question for you though... Do you have a beta for this. I ask this because I found several punctuation errors that would have likely been caught by a beta. Your grammar is good though, and I enjoyed reading it... If you don't already have one, and are interested, I would be glad to help you out in that area since you said that you didn't see this story as being very long. I think this story has potential. If you would like for me to help you out, just drop me a message and let me know.
