Chapter Two-The Visitor

Kagome stood in the middle of the road, drinking out of her water bottle. The day was hot, with no wind, no breeze. She looked at the rest of her companions. Shippo was riding on Miroku's shoulder. Sango was sitting on a rock, looking at the monk, an angry look on her beautiful face. Kagome looked around for InuYasha, wondering where he had gotten to. She didn't see him. She walked towards the newest tree and at the base, looked up. There he was, perched on the topmost branch, looking ahead. She sighed; knowing it was close to night. She turned thoughtful. She thought about the dreams that had been plaguing her. A dream of her death. Normally she dreamt these dreams often, however, this one was different. He was in it. His silver hair blowing as she resigned herself to dieing, resigning herself to evil. All she could do was watch as pure horror consumed his face as she whispered her final words of farewell. And then she always, always, woke up. She cried out when something hit her from behind.

"Oie wrench, you done resting yet?" InuYasha asked. She looked at the small container he had thrown at her. He slowly backed away as she got the reddest face.

"SIT BOY! SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, AND SIT!" She screamed. A low groan sounded from the hole that was InuYasha. She marched over to the hole. As he emerged, she grabbed his ear.

"OW, let go!" He yelled. She leaned down to his ear.

"Never, ever throw anything at me! If you ever throw anything at me again, I'll make a rosary that makes that one seem tame. Maybe with a command that throws you into a tree. How does that sound?" Kagome yelled right into his ear. He winced at the volume. She finally let go his ear and he fell to the ground, groaning. Then, suddenly, he sat up and drew his sword.

"InuYasha?" Kagome asked, fearing the worst. Was it Naraku? She didn't' sense any jewel shards, so what was it? Her question was answered by Sesshoumaru showing up. She shivered when she recalled her dream. He stood there as silent as a tree, with his silver hair blowing in the slight breeze. InuYasha transformed his sword.

"What the hell do you want Sesshoumaru? Another beating?" InuYasha snarled. Sesshoumaru looked at him for a moment and then turned to Kagome. She gulped.

"Wrench, you're the one who is the reincarnate of Kikyo, correct?" Sesshoumaru asked. Kagome paled, wondering why he was hear, but fearing she already knew.

"Yes Lord Sesshoumaru, I am. However, my name is Kagome." She said, trying to be as respectful as possible. However, any mention of that undead miko always stirred her up. He narrowed his eyes, as though he could hear her thoughts, feel her emotions.

"You are very weak. Little brother, why haven't you trained her at all?" Sesshoumaru asked with disdain. InuYasha glared at his brother.

"What the hell does it matter to you?" He snarled, bringing his sword up again. Suddenly, Kagome gasped. Everyone looked at her. She stared almost in disbelief at Sesshoumaru.

"You have had the dream also, haven't you?" She asked. Sesshoumaru nodded ever so slightly. Kagome closed her eyes in despair.

"Kagome, what the hell are you talking about?" InuYasha asked. Kagome looked at him.

"Lower your sword InuYasha, he is not here to fight you. Trust me on this." Kagome whispered softly. InuYasha looked at her, stunned, but did as she asked. The others just looked shell-shocked. Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru.

"Will you sit, My Lord?" She asked. Sesshoumaru nodded and sat down gracefully. The others did the same.

"I would ask of all of you to allow me to talk first. Then you may ask any questions you may have." Sesshoumaru stated.

"I believe you have our words." Kagome said, softly. Everyone looked at her but understood.

"Since I was a boy, I had visions. Usually of an event that had already happened. My mother's death, our father's death, your mother's death, when you were pinned, and the day you were released. These events had already occurred that day or night so I could do nothing to stop them. However, for the past 2 weeks, I have been having a vision that I know has not yet happened. How I know this, I do not know. As Kagome states, she has also had this dream. Unless she wills it, I will not tell you of this dream." Sesshoumaru said, very calmly, his gaze never changing.

"So, Lord Sesshoumaru, you could never change anything about the events you had seen?" Mirkou asked, wanting to make sure he had it right. Sesshoumaru nodded.

"It was a gift or curse given to me by my mother. She had the gift, her mother, and so forth. Usually only females get this gift, however, being as I am my mother's only child, I got it." Sesshoumaru stated.

"So you mean to tell me that both Kagome and you have been having the same visions?" InuYasha said. Kagome looked stunned but understood.

"It seems so, InuYasha. The dream I have been having is the final battle. Only Naraku gets a hold of me and tries to absorb me. There is nothing any of you can do. The final moments, before I wake up, I see Sesshoumaru staring at me. Is this what you dream, Lord Sesshoumaru?" Kagome asked. Everyone looked stunned as Lord Sesshoumaru nodded. Kagome sighed.

"May I ask then what the hell you're doing here? Sharing dreams doesn't mean anything." InuYasha said. Sesshoumaru sighed.

"There is a part of the dream that disturbs me more than I like to admit. I will not share it; however, I do not want Naraku to win. So, with Kagome's permission, I would like to train her. Make her stronger so she can face Naraku and win. Also, he won't know what is going on because his mirror cannot penetrate my home. I know this will make it harder to hunt those shards your after, however, if Naraku is able to absorb Kagome, if she dies, then all hope is lost. With her power added to his, not even this Sesshoumaru can beat him." Sesshoumaru said.

Everyone sat there with his or her mouths hung open, stunned with what he has said. For Sesshoumaru to admit to that weakness was amazing. Kagome stood up. She looked around. Unknowing to them all, she knew what would happen if Naraku absorbed her. She had seen it. The very trees she was looking at, no, this very world would die and so would her time. She sighed; knowing that this was the answer she had been looking for, searching for, for months. She knew that InuYasha wouldn't like it, heck she didn't even like it. She bit her lips, thinking.

"Your not really thinking of going are you Kagome?" InuYasha asked, coming up to her. She looked at him sadly.

"Guys, InuYasha and I need to talk. Do you mind if we go for a short walk, My Lord?" She asked. Sesshoumaru shook his head no. She started towards the stream she saw ahead, InuYasha following behind her. When she got there, she sat down on the large rock there and stared out into the middle of the stream. She sighed again then spoke.

"InuYasha, I have to go. You see, I never told anyone of this but sometimes I also see the future. What Sesshoumaru says is true. I have seen this. If Naraku wins, your time, my time, and the world will be gone. I know this means I won't be able to hunt the shards, but beating Naraku is so much more important." Kagome said, finally looking at InuYasha. He sighed also. Then took her hand in his.

"Kagome, are you really sure this is the only way? I don't think you could last a day at his palace, let alone a week or even months. I don't want you to die, however, I also don't want to see you hurt." InuYasha stated, staring at the setting sun. Kagome followed his gaze.

"InuYasha, for months I have been trying to find a way. Even in my time I have tried to find a way. But, nothing has come to me. I am stronger than I really look. I have to be. Besides, you and the others can visit me still. That will be one thing I insist on. So, you see, I do have to go. Will you let me?" Kagome asked. InuYasha nodded, not speaking. They sat there for a few more minutes, watching the sun go down. Then they heading back to camp.

"Lord Sesshoumaru, I accept your offer on three conditions." Kagome said, looking at him. He narrowed his eyes at her, wondering what they could be.

"And those would be?" He asked. Kagome sighed and than spoke.

"The first is that InuYasha and the others be allowed to visit whenever they want. Second, if he agrees, Shippo is to come with me. He is like a son to me. Third, every month I want 3 days to go back to my family. There are certain conditions to that as well. Ones I will tell you when we get back to your palace. Do those sound acceptable to you, My Lord?" Kagome asked. Lord Sesshoumaru sighed, knowing this girl was going to be more trouble than she was worth.

"It is acceptable. However, you are going to be training under me. I want no back talk, no whining, and no quitting. Can you do this?" Sesshoumaru countered. Kagome bit her lip again, knowing it would be hard. But she nodded. Sesshoumaru sighed.

"I have one more thing My Lord. May I have two days now to let my family know and get some stuff I may need? They will worry about me." Kagome asked, shifting from leg to leg. Sesshoumaru nodded.

"Met me then at the God Tree in InuYasha's forest in 3 days then." InuYasha told his brother. Sesshoumaru nodded then left them. Kagome then looked at the stars.

"3 days till my whole life changes. I wonder, will I survive?" She thought.
