Chapter two: I'm Not Kikyou!
Kagome pulled away from Sesshoumaru due to lack of oxygen. As she gazed up into his amber orbs, she saw emotions flash across them. The one's Kagome recognized where confusion and desire. The one she couldn't recognized she wondered at. It caused butterflies in her stomach and her head to feel light. Like she was floating.
"Sesshoumaru....?"
"Sesshoumaru!?" Inuyasha's enraged voice broke the trance both seemed to be in.
*I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless
Lost under the surface*
Kagome sighed and stepped away from the warm and safe embrace of the taiyoukai. She glared over at Inuyasha, startling the hanyou.
"Inuyasha! SIT!!" The baka slammed into the ground and Kagome looked over at Sesshoumaru. "You should go." She said after a while, ignoring the curses and threats the hanyou was muttering loudly through the dirt. Sesshoumaru just gazed at her with his emotionless expression, but in his eyes there was a deep anger and concern.
"Don't worry. I'll handle Inuyasha." She said and issued four more SIT commands. When she looked back at Sesshoumaru he wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered in her ear. "I'll be back for you." Then he was gone.
*I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure

Kagome sighed and turned to the recovered Inuyasha. He was pissed.
" What the hell?! I come here to save your worthless ass and this is how you repay me? Kikyou would never act this way." Inuyasha stopped when he realized he wasn't getting any rection from the girl from the future. Her head was bowed and her hair hid her eyes from view.

Slowly she raised her face to show her anguish and tears. Inuyasha took a step back at the emotion there on her face. "I don't care, Inuyasha. I'm tired of this." Her voice was low and sounded like it was choking her to say the words. Without further explination she turned on her heel and took off into the night for the second time.

'Stupid jerk! All he ever thinks about is Kikyou! Why? Why did I have to be the reincarnation of HER? Why did I have to fall for the guy that loved that incarnation? Why does it still hurt so much? I'm not Kikyou! Why can't he see that?'

'I guess I'll never be more to him and I'm fine with that as long as he can for once look at me like I was someone other then his dead lover.' Kagome came into the campsite the group had set up for the night. She calmed her breathing and walked into view. Miroku and Sango looked up with surprise and worry.
After reassuring them she was fine, she climbed into her sleeping bag bringing the sleeping Shippou with her. She watched as Miroku and then Sango finally nodded off to sleep. Her thoughts went back to how her night had gone.

Kouga had popped up right when they had decided to stop for the day. Again the wolf youkai had sprouted nonsense about Kagome being his woman. Inuyasha emmediatly shouted insults and attacked. Kagome ended the fight with a few words mainly consisting of sits. Soon after Kouga left and Inuyasha sulked in a tree. After they had eaten Ramen Inuyasha had taken off. Kagome following after.

Kagome's thoughts replayed the events of Inuyasha's and Kikyou's whispered words and passionate embrace. Tears sprang to Kagome's eyes again but they didn't fall as another thought emerged in her head.

The emotions he caused in her made her want to sing and cry at the same time. 'Why did he kiss me? What are these strange emotions?' (Not very bright is she?) Kagome wondered at the strong embrace and the feel of his warm lips on hers. Tingles ran up her spine at those thoughts. 'Whoa there!' She thought to her self trying to stop the blush and thoughts of a naked Sesshoumaru. 'Inuyasha's a bastard.' She told herself as she remembered his words.

Kagome was so lost in thought she didn't notice Inuyasha slink back into camp. She didn't hear the hanyou sit in the tree or his softly muttered grumbles. His glowing eyes settled on Kagome's still form watching as her sapphire eyes closed. 'He can't have her! Sesshoumaru will not take Kagome from me!'

He jumped down when he was positive that Kagome was asleep. He leaned closer when he saw she was muttering in her sleep. His eyes widened at what he heard.
"I'm not Kikyou."
