     Unbelievable...

It had been five years since her aunt has disappeared without a trace.  The police found nothing. The same went for the three private investigators that her mother and her older aunt had hired.  It was as if Aunt Nadine had disappeared into thin air. The two sisters were tireless in their search. They also received aid by many friends of the family.

Kagome's aunt always was one to give the family a heads up when she traveled.  She had no enemies and was well respected due to her deep wallet when it came to her charities. Her mini mansion was right outside the city's limit in a gated community. The house was also equipped with a state of the art security system.  She was at home the night she disappeared. The security camera showed her walking outside onto the patio and on into her garden. It showed her walking around one of her large hibiscus shrubs but, that was the last image of her. The cameras showed no one in or around the house and nothing was missing. The pantry was stocked, the cars were in the garage and her night gown was laid on the bed.

They found no evidence  from her phone records that anything was amiss. She had appointments planned later on that week and they found no evidence of her leaving the country.  Everything ran into a dead end.  So now at the five year mark the police  decided to label it a cold case and informed the family that Nadine Cummings was more than likely dead.  Moving forward a reading of the will was scheduled.

Kagome sat there in utter shock.  She had inherited everything. The next few weeks went by in a blur, sorting through legal mumbo jumbo, working with the lawyer on setting up everything from a trust fund for her brother's college to alotting monies for her mother and her other aunt. Her grandfather has been living at the house keeping it up. He, as well as everyone else had hoped that Nadine would walk through the door one day, but that day never came. When Kagome moved in he told her that he was going back to the shrine. That this house greatly unsettled him.

It took a while getting use to the house. But Kagome found that she was enjoying it. Since she was into her second year at the University this was a lot better than staying in a dorm. It still seemed unreal that this house belong to her. Kagome went through the house with the hopes that she would spot something. The first thing she thought was a little unusual were books on the occult in the library.  They were scattered about in different places, which Kagome found odd since her aunt was very detailed bordering on OCD. Some of the books were interesting, informative and a little curious but there were a few that Kagome found disturbing.  These were the ones dealing in demon lore, some even instructing how to communicate with these beings and even making pacts with them..... selling your soul to gain your desires.

One morning Kagome was going through the walk in closet off her bedroom marveling at it's size. It was a small room within itself. It offered a lot of shelving and storage.  She smiled at what Nadine must have used for her many shoes with the neat little compartments. She walked by that area of the closet shaking her head, wondering if she would ever own as many shoes to fill each little nook.  That was when she noticed it.  At the back of one of the nooks there appeared to be a slight gap. Something that her perfectionist aunt wouldn't abide.  Pushing on it, it gently moved back revealing a compartment behind it. Excited Kagome ran to get a flashlight.

Looking back into the hidden compartment there were two small books.  Taking them out gently Kagome opened one and saw that it was a diary.  The other appeared to be a diary but flipping through it she noticed drawings and stopped.  There on the next few pages was the most beautiful being she has ever seen.  Long Silver hair, pointed elven ears and a very aristrocratic face with high cheeckbones, straight nose and sensual lips.  He had a blue cresent moon on his forhead and two magenta stripes on both cheecks. Citrine eyes that had slitted pupils like a cat...

"Oh my God...These are drawings of a Demon!"

But she couldn't take her eyes off him.  He had broad shoulders and a very defined chisled chest and tapered waist. He was perfect!  He was wearing this wrap thing low on his hips that reminded her of what she would see in Egyptian hieroglyphics. There were two more magenta slashes on each side of his hips that disappeared downward hidden by his wrap. She noticed he had the same slashes of color on his wrists and ankles.

"Beautiful..."

Looking at his wrists she noticed that his fingers were tipped in claws...deadly as well as beautiful it seems.  On the top of  each page there was a symbol and below it the name Lord Sesshoumaru.  One of the drawings that just showed his face had the same symbol and name at the top but also had at the bottom of the page her aunt's neat script that read:  My Beloved Lord and Master.

Kagome blinked.....EXACTLY WHAT WAS HER AUNT INVOLVED IN??????
