As Akahito fell, Kagome finally understood. He had been lost for so long, his way clouded by bitterness and pain. His judgment was clouded by emotion. Though he was wrong for what he had done to his villagers, how can she judge him when she had allowed her own emotions to rule her in the past?
She’d hated Kikyo, had wished her to die on many occasions because the other woman had gotten between her and Inuyasha. Though she’d never put thought to action, it was just as bad to wish for another to die as to act upon it.
CLIFF NOTE #1: Kagome may not like what Akahito had done, but she is mature enough to realize that she has no right to condemn him.
