They returned to Kagome's home and she made them both some tea, the two fo them sat under the tree that started it all. He was leaning against the tree and she was leaning against him. She sighed to herself in bliss and Sesshomaru's voice statled her when he spoke. It was quiet, yet curious at the same time.
"Why is there food outside?"
"Its an old tradition adapted from Ancient Egypt, my love." Kagome began with a smile. "It was for the poor lost souls who were bound to wander the earth after their death. It's a way of honoring them and providing them with food when they are able to slip through the veil once a year. At least that is what many people believe."
"And where are the demons?"
"That I do not know. I haven't been able to sense any in this era. You're not the first to ask, Inuyasha asked me the same thing the first time he came here. Although he asked it conciderably less eloquent than you." She said with a little smile. "I do not know what happened. Perhaps my getting sent back in time to stop Naraku is going to fix at this. Its hard to know what will change in my future once I finish changing the past."
