Bus Stop by Courtney

Wrong Stop

Author's Note: Sorry for any mistakes you might find. The story was a quick thought, and I did not put much effort into it, but enjoy.

---------

Kagome watched the man shes practically been stalking enter the bus. He took his usual seat across from her, which she made sure to sit as close as possible to. She was usually a straight forward girl, but the man across from her made her more nervous than a mouse in front of a hungry feline. His golden eyes and long silver hair made her practically melt in her seat. Today he pulled out a book, which he put on a pair of dark-rimmed glasses to read.

'Im pathetic' she though. 'Every night I leave work thirty minures later than usual just to be able to take this bus home.' Kagome's first and second encounted with the man happened by accident. It was the holiday season, and with more work then normal her old bus came too early. After that, she couldn't pass up the oportunities to see him again.

He sat quietly with his eyes on his book, not actually reading. He knew her eyes were plastered on him, and he could smell the nervousness radiating off of her, along with the scent of appreciation. He inwardly smirked. Women usually fawned after him, which he found highly unattractive and annoying. But this woman- Kagome- was different. He was assigned to watch her after her grandfather passed a few months ago. Usually, these kinds of jobs were beneath him and he hated every second of them, but Kagome made it worth it. She was beautiful. Sure, he's been with plenty of women, but he would never lower himself to actually aquire feelings for them. When he noticed her change in bus patterns, he couldn't help but to feel acomplished. He also rode her old bus to watch her, but she never seemed to notice. He was where she was, never leaving her side, even when she did not realize. It was his jo, to watch over the human.

Kagome noticed the man smirk and look up from his book to stare directly at her. Neither of them blinked or looked away for what seemed like an enternity. The trance was stopped by the bus halting, and the driver announcing that this was the last stop for the night.

Kagome muttered a curse under her breath after realizing she missed her stop. The mystery man offered his hand to guide her off the bus, which she accepted with a light blush. The last stop was an almost empty parking lot. One car sat in the lot.

'Thats strange' she thought.

The man coughed and Kagome almost died of embarrasment when she realized she never let go of his hand. She muttered a quick apology and released it.

"There is no need to be embarrased."

Kagome squeaked upon hearing his voice for the first time. It fit him perfectly, deep and intimidating.

"Allow me to drive you home, it is clear you missed your stop." He gestured towards the single car in the lot.

Confused, Kagome asked "Why do you ride the bus if you have a car?"

"I have my reasons, ones I doubt you'd believe."

Before she had time to answer, he slipped a hand around her waist and guided her to the car. He opened her door for her before climbing in the driver's side, starting the car, and pulling out of the lot.

"Where to?"

In all reality, he knew exactly where she lived. Instead of being bombarded with questions, he decided to play stupid and ask. She told him the adress and the rest of the car ride was silent minus the light breathing of Kagome as she fell asleep in the passenger seat.

They pulled up to the apartment, and he turned off the car carefully without waking her. Getting out and walking over to  the passenger side, he pulled her out bridal style and carried her to her apartment.

Kagome woke up in her bed. A glance at her clock told her it was 3am, and for the life of her she could not remember how she got home. She got out of bed and headed for the living room, where she noticed the TV on and the mystery man laying on the couch. He looked asleep from what she could see, and she remembed falling asleep in his car.

'Oh jeez, he must think I'm a child.'

She went back to her bedroom and got a throw blanket, planning on covering him by it. She got in front of the couch, and before she could even begin to place the blanket on him, she felt his arms around her, pulling her down on dop of him straddling his waist. Her eyes grew wide when she noticed him fully awake, and fully concious about what he was doing.

The scent of fear hit his nose. "Do I scare you?" he asked.

Kagome sputtered a little bit and tried to move, but quickly realized his hands on her hips were holding her in place.

"Um- I just thought you were asleep and you startled me by-" Kagome was cut off by him shifting himself so he was now sitting up, face merely inches from hers.

"I see" he said, gaze not leaving hers.

Kagome practically went into shock. The man she's been silently stalking was not under her, with his face close enough to feel his breath. 'I must be in heaven.' Before she had time to question the position they were in, she felt his lips on her. They seemed hungry, as if he's been waiting for this. Unknowing to her, he was.

He felt her hands caress his neck and shoulders as she leaned into the kiss, so he took that as a sign to continue. His hands roamed her sides, but never come into contact with anything deemed intimate. He could smell that she was confused, so he would not push it farther until she was ready.

Without a warning, she pulled away from the kiss and looked into his eyes, and the four words he didn't quite expect she'd ask came out of her mouth.

"What is your name?"

"Sesshomaru." He answered quickly before returning to her mouth. 'So that is what she wanted to know.'

The scent of confusion gone, his hands ran down her backside and he groaned when she shivered from the touch. He broke off the kiss, and started to nip at her neck.

Kagome decided that since she'd obivously had died and gone to heaven, that she should appreciate what Sesshomaru was doing to her. When she felt his tongue on her neck, she shuddered and leaned her head on his shoulder. Underneath her, she could feel that he was hard- and quite large. Not that she was complaining.

He pulled off her shirt in a quick move and kissed her collar bones. Sesshomaru started to get near the top of her breast when the shriek of a phone went off. He growled before looking at the coffee table, where his phone was ringing. The caller ID was important, so he could not ignore it.

Kagome climbed off his lap and sat next to him giving him a questioning look.

"I must take the call."

Kagome had to resist the urge to pout, and instead she nodded.

"I put my number on the fridge, call me tomorrow and we will meet for dinner. Is that acceptable?" He continued. Kagome nodded, unable to form words at the moment. She walked him to the door, where he kissed her forehead and before exiting, said "Goodnight, Kagome." Sesshomaru left and Kagome couldn't fall asleep for the life of her. She tossed and turned, thinking of Sesshomaru, and how glad she was she finally knew his name. Then it came to her-

'How did he know my name?'
