Crave by TacitPaucity

Fourth

It was the fourth month into Kagome's pregancy when her cravings really started to hit ridiculous.  Inuyasha sat with his legs crossed in front of the fire; staring with wide eyes as Kagome conquered her latest craving.  "Keh, you might want to slow down there...you're getting really fa-"  luckily for him, Miroku clamped a hand over the hanyo's mouth.

Brown eyes ripping from the succulent morsel in front of her, Kagome's attention was centered on a certain silver-haired man.  Challenging him to say more, the pregnant and very irritable woman pinned him with her gaze. "What. Was. That?"  She inquired, fire burning in her chocolate depths.  Quivering with absolute fear invoked by the woman who was promising death with her eyes, Miroku spit out the first thought that popped into his head.

"FANTASTIC! You might want to slow down because...ahaaha...even though you're getting fantastic at catching your own food, all of us are sure that you need rest before going to get more"  The monk finished nervously, praying that she bought it.  For both the wellbeing of his hanyo companion and the pregnant priestess, who was still glaring tessaiga sized daggers, Miroku sought reassurance from Inuyasha.

"Isn't that right, Inuyasha?"  Making sure to keep a tight hold on the half-demon's mouth; knowing full well that the walking mouth would aim to set the record straight.  Whispering ever-so-lightly to make sure only Inuyasha heard him, Miroku made a promise that made both of them shiver.  "My dear friend, before you respond...think about how Sango's hiraikotsu will feel tearing into you...after you've been sent to hell by Kagome's subjugation."  Jabbing his sharp elbow into Inuyasha's back, Miroku made sure to cause some pain; for his troubles.

Shaking his head in affirmation, the hanyo tried to control his cringe as a visualization played itself out in his mind.  Only relaxing after the monk removed his hand and Kagome gave an "Oh..Ok, I guess  you're right Yasha"  accompanied with a wide, prideful and jovial smile.  Standing, thoroughly grossed out by his companion's choice of food, Inuyasha made his way to the only Daiyokai of the group.

Hopping into hs favorite position, a relaxed sitting position on a low branch in the tree, Inuyasha looked down.  Assessing his brother who, stood stoically against the base of the tree, did not return his stare, Inuyasha voiced his concern.  "Oi...Is what she's doing normal?"

Growing impatient when he didn't receive a reply, the hanyo probed his sibling further.  "I mean, I know she's carrying your offspring...but is that ok for her to do?"  Worry lacing his tone as he once again inquired towards his female friend's craving.  Puppy-like ears perked up and swiveled when they picked up his brother's cool baritone, an answer he was not looking for.

"Her choice in food is acceptable"  Was the killing perfection's response before he turned and started to fade from the clearing.  "Oi, where are you going?"  Inuyasha called after his brother, barely picking up what his response was.  "To hunt"  was the the simple reply, and it induced a new round of shivers to creep up Inu's uneasy spine once again.  Imagining his brother running into the forest to keep up with Kagome's appetite was a laughable thought; who ever thought Kagome would control the great daiyokai's actions?  Once again Inuyasha cringed, Kagome's wrath had grown and his 'sits' only increased.

Knowing his brother was well into the woods by now but, with his advanced hearing, could still pick up his half sibling's statement.  "I know she's carrying your child, which will be a demon, but I just don't understand....why is she eating her meat raw and bloody?"  Cringing once again after he finished; having caught a glimpse of a trail of blood that made its way down the soon-to-be mother's chin from her plump, now red, lips.

A/N:  I've decided to change my goal for this story.  These chapters will be drabbles about different stages in Kagome's pregnancy.  Different prompts and worlds should be expected; chapters not connected unless I say.  Let me know if you want me to take a crack at a certain prompt.  Enjoy and review!
