She sits silently, her knees bent up to her chest, leaning forward with her arms wrapped around her legs, looking like the living embodiment of melancholy.
Since her request for escape she has not spoken a word to this Sesshomaru. Perhaps despite seeking refuge with this one she blames me for her argument with the half-breed;after all I was the one who whisked her away earlier.
There is an uncomfortable tightening in my chest at the thought that the priestess may be angry with me.
She sighs into the night, at last breaking her silence, “It’s an endless cycle.”
