“What if there isn’t anything down here?” Kagome asked, leading the male behind her with the glare of her makeshift flashlight and the strange barrier.
“Whom would go through such lengths to hide nothing? You are not curious in the least?”
“Not if this place suddenly decides to cave in on us,” Kagome answered dryly.
“Valid point,” the man allowed. “However, it has lasted this long without incident.”
Kagome’s eyes widened, and she blurted, “You’re asking me to be impulsive? What happened to your logical side?”
“The need to know about my origins is greater.”
