Sesshomaru dropped Kagome off with Ai and Kazuo then made his way to Lord Jin’s study.
Kagome sighed as she took her seat beside Ai, “The problems seem to never cease when it comes to me.”
Ai giggled a bit, “Whatever do you mean by that Kagome?”
Kagome’s eyes widened in shock then swung to Kazuo, “You have not told her yet have you?”
Kazuo looked away from Kagome you could see the anger sparkle to life in Kagome’s eyes.
Ai looked between the two, “He did not tell me what Kagome. What is wrong?”
Kagome took a deep breath to calm down then proceeded to tell Ai everything that she had discussed with Sesshomaru a few minutes prior.
Ai stared at a Kagome for a moment in shock the sighed, “Hopefully you are right Kagome but if you are and this male does not wish to accept it that you are not Lady Midoriko it could become ugly.”
Kagome looked at Ai curiously, “What do you mean Ai?”
Ai looked at Kazuo, “Since you are male perhaps you could explain it better than I could Kazuo.”
Kazuo gave both females a weary look, “If this male does not wish to believe it and move on Kagome he could try to challenge Sesshomaru for the right to become your mate.”
Kagome’s eyes widened and she gasped, “How is that possible?”
Ai placed a reassuring hand on Kagome’s shoulder and nodded for Kazuo to continue.
Kazuo sighed, “It is because you and Sesshomaru have not mated yet. You are still his intended and until you mate any male could try to challenge him for the right. It is the same with Kikyo and Ai it is the way things are in our society.”
Kagome’s eyes filled with sparkling tears, “So you mean if this male challenges Sesshomaru and wins Sesshomaru will not be able to mate me.”
Kazuo gave Kagome a sad nod of his head.
Kagome wailed, “No that cannot happen Sesshomaru is my true love I am destined to be with him! If I am not with him the curse on my home will never be lifted!”
