Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me.

Chapter 84: Missing
“This is a good spot. We can eat here and–” There was a pause. “Kagome?”
The silence was deafening.
Sesshoumaru turned to look over his shoulder, expecting to see the petite woman behind him. His eyes widened when all he saw was a pair of ducks in place of the dark-haired female.
“Where is she?” he asked them, frowning when they actually quacked in response. Sighing, he ignored the odd looks that a few of the festival goers sent him, and set his trays of takoyaki down onto the railing of the wooden bridge he had stopped on. Filled with worry for Kagome, he couldn’t even appreciate the pretty scenery of the clear, placid river and the red maple trees that surrounded it. Nevertheless, he figured he would have time to enjoy the area after he found her.
He straightened his back, face stoic. “I will return,” he told the ducks imperiously. “If you eat my food, I will eat you.” He smirked when the poor birds trembled in fear and perched beside the snacks, as if they would protect them in his absence.
With a swish of silver hair, Sesshoumaru set off to search for his wife.
