Must be your skin

I’m sinking in

Must be for real

‘Cause now I can feel

And I don’t mind

It’s not my kind

It’s not my time

To wonder why

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome’s head tossed back as she felt fangs brush down her cheek and onto her neck.  Lips latched on and she moaned in pure ecstasy.  A hand wove into her hair, pulling her head back slightly, and another had found its way under her shirt, working its way up her stomach.
Her hands found buttons of a shirt and slowly began to undo them.  Her thumbs brushed against the bare chest that began to peek through the fabric.  It was smooth and hardened, as if the skin was pampered, but the muscles constantly worked on.
As the last button came undone, her hands glided up to bare shoulders and pushed back the fabric, over sculpted arms.  Her hands moved back up to find long, soft hair in which her fingers entwined into, jerking the head attached up to meet her lips once more.
Strong lips captured her soft ones in a bruising kiss.  She meet it with her own passionate frenzy as best she could.  She felt her bra unsnap underneath her shirt and a warm hand moved from her side to her breast to cup it gently.
She gasped as she felt the hand pinch her right nipple.  She felt a smirk form on the strong lips, that once more where moving down her neck.  The hands pulled off her shirt, the lips leaving her skin momentarily, only to come back to her left breast, the tip of a tongue teasing the outer edges.
She moaned and dug her nails into the flesh of a back.  “Sesshoumaru,” she whispered, “Oh, god, Sesshoumaru.”
She felt another smirk.  “Do you like it when I tease you, my dear innocent Kagome?” he asked.  His voice was smooth and very much masculine.  A voice that could not be ignored.
“Yes,” she ground out, arching her back up toward his mouth.  “Oh yes I do.  Please Sesshoumaru.  I need you.”
A hand slid down her stomach and claws softly traced the outer edges of her jeans.  “Oh?  You need this Sesshoumaru?”
“Just fuck me.  Just fuck me right now, god damn it!” She hissed, tugging at his jeans.
She heard a soft chuckle of torment.  Lips traveled down her stomach, following the path the hand had taken, while the hand worked on the button of the jeans.
There would have been a time where this would have been a big problem.  She would have stopped it instantly or wouldn’t have even let a situation like this come into being in the first place.  The reason behind this was very simple: Inu Yasha.
He was a very good friend.  Not very honest, but completely trustworthy and loyal.  He did things he probably shouldn’t have done, and lied about doing it, but he was always there when you needed him and never told any of your dark secrets.
The only thing that you could do that would make him really angry (Not like his tantrum fit angers either, like we’re no longer friends angry) was befriend his older half-brother, Sesshoumaru.
So everyone had avoided him like the plague.  It helped that he wasn’t the nicest person either.  He was always insulting someone for one thing or another or ignoring your existence.  He only had a few friends, to whom he didn’t speak to very often.  He never smiled for anyone or anything.  He had a very nasty sense of humor, which included beating Inu Yasha on a daily basis, just for being alive.
Kagome had met Inu Yasha in Jr. High School and became quick life long friends with him.  Then she met Sesshoumaru and was instantly stricken with his beauty, who, at the time, had been in High School, two years ahead of her.
He was a very handsome man, putting to shame all the male models that she had seen.  Tall and hunky, as her friend Sango had put it once.  And he was tall.  Almost two and a half heads taller then herself (A good 6’5), had the creamiest pale skin (she could have sworn he went to the spa twice a week just to keep it that beautiful) that was just perfect, long swaying sliver hair that shined in the sun like finely polished metals, and deep golden rod eyes that seemed colder then dry ice and void of any emotion.
She had always felt plain compared to him with her long black hair, though soft, wasn’t exactly the best to tame.  She had a decent body (She was on the volleyball team, which required her to be in shape) and her eyes were bigger then the average persons.  Very plain in comparison to him.
Inu Yasha hated him though.  She didn’t dare act on her feelings because of this.  She’d fantasize about what it would be like to be with him for years, but none of those dreams compared to what she was feeling at this moment.
Why was she finally with him now?  She didn’t care anymore.  She wasn’t going to think about what had lead her to this moment in time.  It  was a dream come true and she was going to do everything she’d ever wanted to do with this gorgeous man.
Everything’s gone white
And everything’s grey
Now you’re here
Now you’re away
I don’t want this
Remember that
I’ll never forget
Where you’re at
Ecstasy tore through Kagome, blinding her senses.  Sesshoumaru slumped over her with a huff, completely out of breath.  She was breathing heavily herself.
“Wow,” Kagome sighed.  She watched lazily as Sesshoumaru pulled out of her and rolled over onto his back.  Her gaze drifted to the ceiling.
He chuckled.  “You could say that again.”
She smirked.  “Wow.”
He laughed and sat up on the floor.  “I wasn’t expecting it to be that good, actually.”
“Oh, thanks!” Kagome said sarcastically.  “I totally thought you would be absolutely horrendous.  And possibly very small.”
“Really?”  He looked down at her, taking in her disheveled look.  Her hair was everywhere and there was a slight puffiness to her lips, that told of stolen secret kisses, and a thin layer of sweat covered her.  “Did I wear you out?”
She laughed.  “I think you did much more then that.  I might be sore for a week straight.  You don’t look the best either.”
His hair was sticking up and there was a small trickle of blood on his shoulder blade.  He was covered in sweat as well and looked thoroughly pleased with himself.  He shrugged.  “It will happen.”
Kagome smiled and stood up.  “You should clean up that cut.  I am going to get dressed.  I have work in a little bit and I can’t be late.”
He nodded and headed into the bathroom.
Kagome stared out the car window as Sango drove toward their ‘amazing’ ski trip.  She didn’t really want to be going.  She had been hoping to get a hold of Sesshoumaru and see if he wanted to hit up the bar or something.  But now she was going to spend a whole week up in the mountains with Sango, Miroku and possibly Inu Yasha, who she hadn’t talked to in two weeks (since she had finally gotten the nerve to approach Sesshoumaru).
She just knew that he was going to tell that she had been seeing Sesshoumaru just by looking at her.  The thought of Inu Yasha finding out scared her, but at the same time she was kind of hoping that he would find out.  That he would freak out on her and feel the way he had made her feel three weeks ago.  It was an innocent act gone wrong.
“Kagome, what is wrong?” Miroku asked, peaking his head between the front seats.  “You haven’t seemed like yourself lately.”
Kagome shrugged.  “I’m fine.  I’d just rather be at home right now.  The prospect of spending a week with Inu Yasha seems daunting and very tiresome.”
Sango snorted.  “You’ve got that right.  How many times do you think he’s going to break something?  Or get in trouble at the lobby cabin?”
Miroku shook his head.  “It’s a good thing he can afford to pay for everything.”
“Yeah, well, either way around it, I would rather still be at home right now,” Kagome said.  “I’m still not too happy with him.”
Sango sighed.  “You have to tell us eventually what he did.”
Kagome looked back out the window.  “I really don’t want to talk about it.”
Miroku and Sango shared a look before he sat back into the seat and Sango looked back at the road.
Kagome smiled at the small cabin that they had rented.  It was rustic and cozy.  The fire was roaring in the living room and Sango had already claimed hers and Miroku’s room.  Kagome had found her room and had unpacked already.  She was now sipping on hot cocoa and was reading a book in front of the fire.  Miroku sat in a chair across from her with the local newspaper while Sango was in the kitchen making them some lunch.  The trip had been a long one and they were winding down before hitting the slopes tomorrow morning.
The door swung open and Kagome looked up only to regret it.  Inu Yasha was walking into the cabin, two bags dragging behind him.  She wanted to groan.  This was going to be the worst week of her life.
Kagome stared at her friends.  Inu Yasha had just confronted her about losing her virginity and the fact that she hadn’t told any of them about it.  She felt uncomfortable, but she could clearly tell that he couldn’t smell Sesshoumaru on her, which meant it had been plenty long enough for the smell to fade away.
“When did that happen?  And with who?” Sango asked.  “You never said anything to me, and we talk about everything!”
She couldn’t tell them the truth.  Inu Yasha would freak out on her like there was no tomorrow and then disown her completely.  Despite the pain he had caused her, she wasn’t willing to lose him as a friend quite yet, even if Sesshoumaru wasn’t as different as Inu Yasha had made him out to be.
Kagome fidgeted with her napkin.  “I was kind of drunk and it was a one time thing.  I can’t even remember who he was.”
Inu Yasha snorted.  “Lies!  I can smell it when you lie, remember?  It’s the same way I know you’re no longer a virgin.”
She shifted.  “Well, it’s none of your business.  It happened and that’s that.”
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of, Kagome,” Miroku put in.  “I know everyone’s first time story.  You can tell us.  We’re not going to be mad, or think it’s funny or anything like that.”
Kagome glared at him.  “It’s none of your business how I lost it, or with who.  Anyone who tries to dig any further won’t get anything.  My lips are sealed.”
Sango threw a journal at Miroku.  “You need to read this.  Two weeks ago.  And then we need to make sure Inu Yasha never finds this,” she whispered.
Miroku looked down at it questioningly.  “Isn’t this Kagome’s?  That’s a complete evasion of her privacy!”
Sango picked it back up and flipped through the pages before stopping and looking up.  “Listen to this.”  She looked back down at the paper and cleared her throat.  “Last night I was at the bar.  I was trying to think of anything but Inu Yasha’s betrayal, if you remember me telling you about that.  Sesshoumaru was there.  I ended up getting the courage I never had before to actually talk to him.  He’s so handsome!  I’m always so stupid around him.  Well, last night I don’t think I was.  I say this because we ended up back at his place an hour later.  It was so magical!  When he kissed me the first time, I didn’t know what to do but after the second and third it felt natural.  My first kiss and I shared it with him.  And then we did something unmentionable.  Something I can never tell anyone about ever.  I lost my virginity.”
Sango looked up at Miroku, who’s mouth was hanging open in shock.  “Sesshoumaru?” he asked, still in shock.
She nodded and sat down.  “We really need to hide this before Inu Yasha thinks about looking for it and reading it.  You know he will soon enough.  If not tonight, then tomorrow.”  She sighed and flipped through the pages.  “It looks like they got into a huge fight a week before that too.”
Miroku rubbed his temples.  “What was the fight about?  Maybe then we will understand why him.”
Sango flipped through the pages of the journal and stopped again.  She frowned.  “I think this is it.  It looks like she was angry when she wrote it.”
Miroku peaked over her shoulder and read the page out loud.  “I can’t believe him!  He thinks it’s ok for him to just date anyone he wants to, but as soon as I start talking about looking for a boyfriend he freaks on me like never before!  And then I meet a guy I’m interested in and he tells me it will never happen because nobody wants me.  He says I’m a prude!  That nobody will ever think I’m beautiful, let alone pretty, or even cute!  Then he had the balls to tell me to just get ready to be a crazy single cat lady!  I found out he scared off the nice guy I had been talking to for the past three days.  I’m sure if I continue being his friend I’ll never have my first kiss.  I’ll never be able to know how it feels to be with a man.  All I’ll ever be able to go off are those smutty books.  I’m sure that our friendship’s starting to fall apart, and this is the fissure of our separation.”
Sango frowned.  “I didn’t hear about this.”
Miroku shook his head.  “Neither did I.  Maybe their friendship is on the downfall?”
“It must be,” Sango sighed.  “She would have never gone after Sesshoumaru if it wasn’t.”
“Well, either way, we have to hide this.  Inu Yasha can never know that Kagome was with his brother.”
Kagome came out of her room in a panic.  “Where’s my journal?  It’s not where I left it!”
Miroku looked over at Sango who shifted where she stood.  Inu Yasha had went down to the market to get some more food for the cabin and he wasn’t expected to be back for a while, seeming as the town was half an hours drive away and he had just left twenty minutes ago.
“I haven’t seen it,” she lied.
Kagome’s eyes narrowed.  “What did you do with it?  Did you read it?”
Miroku scratched his arm.  “Maybe you just misplaced it?”
“What did you do with my journal?” she yelled at the two.  “I know you both better then that!”
Sango sighed and looked over at Miroku.  He hung his head and sank deeper into the couch.  “You left it on the coffee table last night and it was open.  I kind of saw a name that kind of caught my attention.”
Kagome froze.  “What name?”
Miroku cleared his throat.  “She showed it to me as well.  You could have told me and her.  We would never tell Inu Yasha what you had done.”
Kagome backed up.  “What are you talking about?”
“Kagome.”  Sango looked slightly hurt.  “I’m your best friend!  You don’t need to hide the fact that you slept with Sesshoumaru from me.  Or that Inu Yasha’s an asshole either!”
Kagome covered her face.  “You’re not supposed to know about that.  Nobody is!”
Miroku frowned.  “If you like him as much as the journal says you do, then you shouldn’t be embarrassed.”
“You don’t understand!  One little slip of the tongue and Inu Yasha will kill me!”  She chewed on her lip.  “He can never find out!  And you can never say anything to Sesshoumaru either!  I think he was a little more drunk then he let on.  I don’t even know if he’ll remember it.”
Miroku raised an eyebrow and Kagome’s shoulders sank.  “Fine.  He remembers.  He wasn’t drunk.  Neither was I.  But it was kind of something that happened and I don’t know.  We’re kind of seeing each other now.”
Sango sat down on the nearest stool.  “You two are dating?”
She shrugged.  “We’re not putting titles on it, but I guess you could say that.”
Miroku sighed.  “Thank god we hid your journal then.”
Kagome laughed.  “Thanks for finding it before Inu Yasha did.  If he found out, I’d be dead.”
Inu Yasha glared at her from across the table.  She wished he would just yell already and get it over with.  He had caught her with Sesshoumaru at the bar the night before and had stormed out before she had a chance to try to talk to him.  He was angry, and she could see it.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” she asked, tracing the grain of the wood in the table.
His glare hardened.  “You know what I want to talk about.”  His fist slammed on the table, making Kagome jump and look up at him with fearful eyes.  “You’re messing around with that god damn asshole!  Being a fucking slut with him!”
Tears pricked her eyes.  “And why not?  I can’t be a slut with anyone else!  I can’t mess around with anyone else!  You scare them off!  He’s not scared of you damn it Inu Yasha!”
He stood up, the chair flying behind him.  “You fucking whore!  What the hell possessed you to sleep with that jack ass?  I thought you were my fucking friend!”
“I thought you were mine too, until you called me ugly and a prude.  Am I ugly now?  How much of a fucking prude am I again?  Tell me Yasha!  Because I’m pretty sure I didn’t catch all of it last time!” she screamed at him.  “You pushed me too far away this time.  I’m done being your friend.  I’m sick of you.  I’m sick of your insults.  I’m sick of the way you act like you can boss me around.  I’m an adult and last I checked, you are not my father.  Just leave me alone.  Stay out of my life if you can’t accept my happiness!”
Tears rolled down her face as she stormed out of the dinning room and down the hall, the front door slamming behind her.
Kagome smiled softly as she rolled over on the bed and looked up at Sesshoumaru.  “Almost as good as last time,” she teased.
He cocked an eyebrow at her.  “What made it less so this time?”  He ran his fingers through her hair.
She laughed softly and kissed his forearm.  “A little insecure, are we?”
He snorted.  “Never.  I am Sesshoumaru.  I am practically perfect.”  His hand rested on her back and she rested her chin on his shoulder.  “What time do you work in the morning?”
“I don’t,” she answered.  “You know what?  I never noticed how absolutely handsome you were before until just now.”
He smirked as he pulled her closer.  “And you are absolutely delectable.  Now what happened between you and that half-breed that made you come over in such fits?”
She sighed.  “I’d rather not talk about that jack ass.”
He raised an eyebrow in surprise.  “His foul language is finally rubbing off on you?  What happened for you to call him that?  You protest with every insult I throw his way and you never have a bad word to say about anyone.”
She rolled off the bed and grabbed the nearest shirt, which happened to be his, and threw it on.  “Can we please not discuss this?”
He sat up.  “Kagome, it is better for us to talk about this now then for it to blow up in our faces another time.  What has happened to anger you so much that I find you at my door crying?  Or for you to take advantage of me in such a state.”
Kagome laughed and let herself fall backwards, her head landing in his lap.  “I could never take advantage of you.  It would always be the other way around.”
He smirked as his fingers combed her hair.  “You need to tell me.  He still lives with father, and I prefer not to go there and be taken off guard by him and his foul mouth.”
She sighed.  “He called me a whore.  He found out about us and threw a fit about it.”
Sesshoumaru frowned.  “What else?  There is something you’re not telling me.”
She looked away from him.  “About a week before this,” her hand motioned between the two of them, “we got into a huge argument.  I met a guy and he scared him off.  Yasha called me a prude and basically told me I was ugly.  That I didn’t deserve anyone and nobody would ever want me.”  She paused and a tear slid down her cheek.  She looked up at him.  “But then I got the courage to actually talk to you and well, I realized he was wrong.  You make me feel special.  I don’t care if you decided in ten minutes that I’m not worth your time because in the short time we’ve been doing this, whatever it is, I’ve felt like a real woman for the first time.  Nothing will ever take that away from me.  Not even Inu Yasha’s hurtful words.”
Sesshoumaru nodded as he pulled her up so she sat on his lap.
Sesshoumaru paged through her journal.  She had left it at his house last night.  He frowned as he read over inserts on Inu Yasha.  He hadn’t been the best of friends, at least through Kagome’s eyes.  He refused to let her have a boyfriend.  She couldn’t tell him of her secret crush, which she never named in her book until he had gotten to the day that they had started their affair, to which he was surprised at how long she had found him attractive.
It was funny that he never noticed her until that night.  He typically tended to ignore Inu Yasha and his fumbling human friends, due to him believing they were all as unclothed as he was. But she was so brilliantly intelligent and glowing with life.  Not to mention she was stunningly beautiful.  He frowned at the thought of not noticing her sooner.
He came across the fight she had had with Inu Yasha a few nights ago.  He was cruel to her.  Always insulting her.  Always running her life from the side lines.  She was so innocent that she couldn’t have seen Inu Yasha’s obvious attraction to her through all his actions.  But he was grateful, because she was his at the moment.
He read further on and growled lowly at what he found.
‘Inu Yasha tried to call me today.  I didn’t want to talk to him.  He left a message on the machine.  He said he was sorry, and he sounded like he meant it.  He tried to explain that he never meant to hurt me.  That he should have been a better friend then he was.  He said he never meant to scare me the other day when we got into that fight.  And he had.
‘It was frightening to see him so angry with me.  When ever I hear something slam shut, all I can see is his fist on the table.  When something falls over, I see the chair flying back to hit the wall.  I’ve never seen him that angry.  It makes me question if I’m doing the right thing with my life.  I know that Sesshoumaru makes me happy.  I know that I have the power over my own life.  But is everything worth my best friend?
‘He’s been mean to me in the past.  But the prude comment.  The ugly comment.  I just can’t look past those right now.  I’m not ugly.  At least, I don’t feel ugly while I’m with Sesshoumaru.  But should I take him back as a friend?  This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten into such a big fight.  When Kikyou was in the picture was the last time.  But that was more my fault then his, wasn’t it?’
He stopped reading and pushed the journal away.  He wasn’t sure about all those other times, but this time, he wasn’t going let her leave him just because the half-breed wanted her back as a friend.
Kagome watched as Sesshoumaru flipped through the newspaper.  He hardly said anything to her today.  They had meet up for coffee and now they were up at her apartment.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, pushing the paper away from him.
He looked up at her.  “Why would you think something is wrong?”
She frowned.  “You’re extremely quiet today.  Normally you would have had at least six different conversations with me at the coffee shop and our clothes would be all over the house about now with us rolling around in some random room on some random furniture.  You’re telling me there’s nothing wrong with this picture?”
He quirked an eyebrow at her.  “Is that all you would want to do with me?”
She laughed softly.  “No.  I enjoy the quality time with you.  But you’re not acting yourself today.  What happened?  Did you have a fight with Yasha or something?”
“No,” he said leaning foreword.  “But are you ok?”
She looked at him confused for a moment.  “Why wouldn’t I be ok?”
He leaned back and sighed.  “I do not pry, but you left your journal at my house the other day.  I happened upon it and was curious.”
Kagome’s eyes opened wide in shock.  “You read my journal?”  She stood up.  “What the hell possessed you to do that?”
He sighed again.  “Kagome, I normally would not pry, but I felt you were not telling me the whole truth of yours and Inu Yasha’s friendship.  I didn’t read the whole thing, I assure you this.”
“But you read it none the less!  That’s private Sesshoumaru!  You don’t see me digging around your place looking for things I’m sure you don’t want me to see.”
“No.  You’re right.  I shouldn’t have.  I knew I shouldn’t have as well.  Curiosity got the best of me, so I skimmed through the pages.  And I apologize for doing it.  I won’t do it again.”
“Damn straight you won’t!” she yelled.  “I can’t believe this!”  She stormed down the hallway toward her room and soon was back with the journal.  “This is a very private book.  Nobody is allowed to read it.  I’m not hiding anything.  If you want to know something, ask!  Don’t go through this to find it out.  I haven’t lied to you about anything yet, and I’m not about to start lying!  I may not tell you everything, but that’s because I don’t feel like you need to hear it all.”
He frowned.  “Like you do not find it prudent to tell me that you are starting to wonder if being with me is not right?  That you think that I might not be worth Inu Yasha’s friendship, or in his case, his obvious infatuation with you?”
Kagome stared at him for a moment.  “What are you talking about?  Inu Yasha doesn’t like me any more then a friend.”
He quirked an eyebrow.  “You may have been innocent before I came along Kagome, but I doubt you were blind to the men that looked at you and still do look at you.”
Confusion covered her face.  “What are you talking about?  Nobody looks at me.  I’m plain old Jane.  Nothing special.  I’m not hot, but I’m not ugly.”
He chuckled and stood up to walk around the table.  He lifted her chin slowly so he could look at her better.  “You are beautiful Kagome.  Extremely beautiful.  When we go out there are at least five guys staring at you.  You’re telling me you have never seen any of them looking?  Never seen the lust in their eyes?”
She frowned.  “No.  They don’t look at me.  And Inu Yasha doesn’t see me that way either.  If he had he would never have been so mean to me.”
Sesshoumaru laughed fully.  “That fool wanted to knock down your self-esteem so he could swoop you up and keep you all to himself.  It’s partially why he went out with Kikyou.  You two look so much alike.  But she is to loose about her ways.  It is why he left her in the end.  Because she wasn’t like you.  I am surprised you never noticed this before.”
She shook her head.  “I think you’ve lost it if you think Inu Yasha likes me at all.  He’s like a big brother.  A really mean, rotten big brother.  Nothing more.”
He smirked.  “Good.  I am happy you feel that way.  Because I don’t think I’m ready to give you up quite yet.  Not to that half-breed.  I enjoy you and your company way to much to let you go.”
Bad mood whine again
Bad mood whine again
As she falls around me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Inu Yasha sat in front of Kagome, his head hung low and his elbows on his knees.  “Why him?  Why not me?” he whispered.

She frowned.  “You weren’t the nicest person.  If it wasn’t for Sesshoumaru I would have never even known you liked me at all!  I still can’t quite grasp the concept, because I still can’t see it.  You always called me horrible names.  You always thought of yourself before ever thinking about me.  I always assumed you just wanted me to become a nasty old shriveled up hag who hated everyone and everything and regretted her whole life.  That’s how you treated me.”

He shook his head and looked up at her.  “I love you!  I thought I was the last person you’d ever look too for anything besides friendship.  So I scared them all off hoping you’d realize that I was the only choice you had.  Kagome, please.  Just leave him.  Be with me.  I’ll ignore that you did this.  I’ll forgive you for being with him.  Anything, as long as you come to me.  Please.”

Tears ran down his face and Kagome felt guilty.  “I don’t think I can be with you the way you want me to.  I have no problem being your friend, Yasha.  But your girlfriend?  After everything you’ve done to me?  Everything you’ve said to me?  How could I ever look at you the way you see me?”

His head dropped again.  “There’s no chance, ever?”

She sighed as she dropped to the floor and curled up between his legs, hugging one of them.  “I’m sorry, but I can’t.  I don’t want to loose you as a friend.  I love you like a brother, Yasha.  I’m sorry if I hurt you with all this.  I really am.”

He grabbed her chin and lifted her face so he could see it.  “Please Kagome.  I’m begging.  I never beg.  You know this.  Just leave him and come to me.  You’re the only person I want.”

Kagome couldn’t say anything.  He wasn’t listening to her.  She started pulling away and he swooped down capturing her lips in a tender kiss.  He put all his emotions for her behind it and a tear fell down her cheek as he slid off the chair to the ground with her.  His arms wrapped around her waist as he deepened it.  She couldn’t fight him.  She felt too guilty.

The kiss was slow and sweet.  It could have been more enjoyable if she felt the same way for him as he did for her.  A moment later he pulled away and brushed her hair back.  He searched her face for anything and sighed.

“It’s not going to happen, is it?” he asked.

She shook her head.  “I’m sorry Yasha.  Maybe if things had been different.”

He nodded and pulled her tight to him in a hug.

She watched as Sesshoumaru stormed through his apartment.  Tears were falling down her face.  He had already put a fist through the wall and broken the coffee table when he flipped it over.  She heard him swear for the first time ever, which every single one felt like a slap to her face.  He was scaring her and she wanted to just leave.  Leave as fast as she could.

She pulled her knees up to her chest and buried her face into them, hoping to block this scene out as best she could.  She was regretting telling him any of it now.  His anger was something she had never seen before and something she never wanted to see again.

He paused and looked down at her.  “You just let him?  You didn’t bother pulling away or pushing him?”

Kagome ignore him.  She didn’t want to be here anymore.  She wanted to leave and never come back.

He growled.  “Kagome, answer me.”

She burrowed her head deeper and covered it with her arms the best she could.  Tears were streaming faster.

He sighed and sat on the couch opposite from her.  “What were you thinking?  How could you let him do this?”

“I didn’t go to him.  I told him no.  Doesn’t that count at all?”  Her voice was muffled but obviously distraught.

He rubbed his forehead.  “That’s besides the point Kagome.  You kissed another man.  While you are with me.”

She looked up with a glare.  “What are we exactly?  Because if I remember, you said we weren’t putting labels on us.  So technically it’s not cheating, is it?”

He looked up at her and frowned.  “That’s all besides the point.  You kissed my brother.”

“I didn’t kiss him!  He kissed me!  Nothing came of it anyway, so there’s no point in arguing about it!”  She stood up and wiped the tears off her face.  “When you’re done with this hissy fit you’re throwing, call me.  But if it’s too big a deal for you, then don’t bother.”

She headed for the door only to find her path blocked by Sesshoumaru.  He grabbed her arms and looked down at her.  “Do you have feelings for him?  Of anything more then friends?”

She looked up at him confused.  “No!  What would even put that in your mind?  How many times have I told you he’s just a friend and nothing else?”

He pulled her tight.  “Good.  I don’t think I’d be able to mate you if you had any feelings for my brother at all.”

Kagome pulled back and looked up at him.  “You want to mate me?  But I thought that this was just a thing and nothing serious?”

He smirked.  “Some things become more then they’re supposed to.  You should know this.  Inu Yasha looked at you as a friend, then as a potential girlfriend.  I see you as my mate.  I hope you don’t mind.”

Kagome smiled softly before standing on her tip toes to kiss him.

Inu Yasha sighed.  “You’re sure you want to?”

Kagome nodded.  “That’s why I’m asking you if it’s ok.  You are my best friend, Yasha.  And I know that, despite how you feel for me, you are only going to want what’s best for me.  So what do you think?”

He frowned and leaned back.  “I don’t know.  I mean, he’s a bastard.  Why do you want to mate him?”

Kagome smacked him lightly on the arm and rested her head on his lap.  The breeze blew past them and she had to hold her hand up to block out the sun.  “Be nice.  He’s sweet to me.  And he loves me and I love him.  It helps that he tries to spoil me.  He got extremely jealous when he found out you kissed me.”

Inu Yasha laughed.  “Alright.  Fine.  You two can mate.  But I swear to god, if he hurts you in any fucking way I’m going to kill him and then you’re going to be mine.”

Kagome laughed softly.  “Thanks Yasha.”
