I Don't own Inuyasha or make any money off it.
This is just a random thing that popped into my head. Apparently someone got offended by this ultra short story's violence and now it has to be MA. You'd think 16 and up would be able to handle this, but apparently not, so here's your warning of extreme violence.
Sesshoumaru relished the feeling of his fist slamming into the body of the well beaten, lying scum wolf demon. He would pummel him into hell if he could, but not even he was above the law. The smell of blood on his fists was soothing to his tortured soul. Pulling away from the severely damaged bundle of fur and broken bones, he straighened his body to his full height and used his youki to burn away the wolf's blood and scent from his body and clothes.
Choking on his own blood, causing his voice to gurgle in his throat, the wolf managed to speak "It'sss... tru-ue. G-" The disturbingly odd sound of a bubble of blood popping interrupted his word. "-o see." Sesshoumaru nearly roared. How dare this wolf keep speaking such lies. There was nothing to go see. NOTHING!
Doubt.... His heart lurched. There was no way, so why did he doubt his resolve. He nearly killed the wolf right there, but that tiny bit of self doubt stayed his hand. Storming off, he decided to check on the wolf's story, even if it was lies. A dog was ever curious, and he refused to live with that doubt in his heart. Even as he reached his car and plugged the destination into the GPS, he raged. How dare that damn wolf cause him to doubt himself?! How dare SHE?
Two hours later, he arrived at the foul smelling location. He wasn't even certain where to park. He'd never had the need to be at one of these places. The odors were horrendous and the people he saw were disgusting. Finding the tallest of the buildings, he parked his car in the nearest spot and strode in as though he owned the place... which he might... He didn't keep track of his stocks. Others did that for him. Growling at the idea of having to ask for directions, glared at the woman behind the desk until she trembled in fear. Demanding the location from her was an easy thing, but her response... and that location made him doubt himself further. His anger paused, then siezed to new heights.
Approaching the small metal box was beyond him. The smells were far too much to take, so he took the stairs. It didn't take him long, but the closer he got, the slower he walked. He heard screams, smelled blood, and could feel the pained and tortured auras around him, and gleeful ones as well. 729. The accursed number. He could smell her blood from where he was. He wanted to shed more of it. To rid the world of her and her affect on him. Steeling himself, he opened the door. She was alone and asleep. It was clearly drug induced. Turning to leave, he nearly crashed into a cart. He almost roared at the indignity, but there in the top of the cart, looking garishly red and wrinkled, was somthing that smelled... like him.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" The nurse gasped. "I wasn't aware she had any visitors. I was bringing her son for his first feeding. If you would kindly wait outside." His heart ripped to shreds in that moment. The nurse paused to get a good look at him. "Oh, that hair! Are you by chance the father?"
"Yes. How... how is she?" The damn wolf had been telling at least some of the truth after all... That didn't mean...
"It took a lot to save this little guy. I'm so glad they're both ok. She's been in and out of the hospital so many times these past several months." If he could have felt worse, he didn't know how.... That statement... tore him to shreds. This nurse had no reason to lie to him. "She's going to have a tough time recovering from the C-section. She didn't want to abort the pregnancy even if it killed her." There. Those words sent the demon over the edge. A tear escaped his left eye, then his right.
"Can I hold him?" He choked out. Not certain if the boy's mother would ever alow him to do such a thing at a later date. Leading him into the room, the nurse directed the unstable demon to sit and then carefully handed him the newborn. Then she went about her tasks and gently woke up the woman in the bed. Sesshoumaru didn't notice. The second that little boy was in his arms, he was enthralled. He checked the little feet and hands, looked at the umbilical cord that had been clamped off. He looked into the little blue eyes and at the tiny curled tuffs of white on top of the head. Such a tiny thing now meant the world to him. The baby stared at him sleepily and grabbed a piece of his hair. Then, after a moment, he cried. Loud, long and strong.
Kagome woke abruptly, her miko ki reaching out before her eyes even cleared. Feeling the familiar presence, she sat up in bed too fast, causing herself pain. The nurse chided her and came back over to get the little boy. "Time for feeding. You've already been walked through it, but I'll help you get him into position." Blushing bright red, Kagome accepted the help, uncertain of what to think about the broken, crying demon in the room. His tortured aura vanquished any anger she had, though she was quite shocked to see him alive.
When the nurse left, Kagome softly cleared her throat. "Sesshoumaru?" He moved over towards the bed and knelt beside her.
"Please," The foreign word came out choked and harsh. "Please forgive me, Kagome." If any soul on earth could forgive what he'd done, his only chance was her.
"Sessh-" He cut her off, a single finger raised to her lips, the claws filed down to human lengths, though still sharp and deadly.
"That day... I... I was blinded. I thought you had betrayed me with my brother. I was angry and it is no excuse. I should never have pushed you into the well. Please, forgive this lowly fool." Kagome could feel tears threatening to fall from her own eyes. "Please allow me to take care of the two of you, even if you never forgive me, allow me to be in my son's life. I beg of you."
"You idiot. You know I'd never betray you. I-" She paused to put more strenght behind what she was about to say. "I love you." Sesshoumaru cried. Thankful that such a soul would love him and risk her life to bear his son.
"I love you too, Kagome. Always and forever." Only then did he pause to remember the state he'd left Kouga in.
