Prompt 1: Ensorcell
It was a typical morning for Sesshoumaru. He arrived at work, walking through the lobby of the building he owned and worked in. His employees cordially greeted him with murmured, “Ohayou-gozaimasu, Nishimura-sama.” He nodded in reply, mind already on the day’s agenda. A whiff of delicate perfume captured his interest, and he turned only to catch a glimpse of a shapely woman in heels and a black pencil skirt. A cascade of ebony hair flowed down her back, swishing gently as she walked. There was something strange about the female, for he was immediately ensorcelled. His eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Prompt 2: Comminute
Pushing the vexing, hypnotic wench out of his mind, the inu taiyoukai CEO focused on the various contracts he had before him. He had a board meeting at nine, a staff meeting at ten, then a meeting with the head of his archrival company. A malicious grin slid across his face. He would comminute Shikon Industries, boosting Nextep, Incorporated stock prices. He could not wait to pull the metaphorical rug from under that smug Wantanabe Naraku. A brief image of slender, long legs flashed in his mind, and he growled furiously, eyes flickering a murderous red. What had she done?
Prompt 3: Prestidigitation
The kumohanyou was one of the few people that truly got under his skin. The man was a true prestidigitator in every sense of the word: he was cunning, underhanded, and a complete trickster. Sesshoumaru knew that Naraku had essentially robbed his way to his current status singlehandedly through every legal loophole he could find. But the inuyoukai had to give it to him—Naraku was no slouch in the intellect department. About halfway through his meeting with the hanyou, she walked in, bright grey eyes sparkling and a mysterious smile on her lips. “Nishimura-sama, meet my assistant, Higurashi Kagome.”
Prompt 4: Baroque
His nostrils flared as he took in the delicate perfume he had scented earlier, and his eyes unconsciously ran over her figure. She wore a tasteful charcoal grey skirt suit with a white, cleavage-revealing shirt that revealed her lacy red bra beneath. While she smiled and appeared at ease, Sesshoumaru realized that the sparkle of her eyes were fake. Coupled with the artificial thrall, the taiyoukai believed she worked for Naraku not of her own free will. She bowed. “A pleasure to meet you, Nishimura-sama.” Her phone sang a Baroque tune. “Excuse me,” she said, stepping out of the room.
Prompt 5: Runestone
The two company heads adjourned for a coffee break. Kagome was pacing in the hallway on the phone, a small replica of a colorful runestone hanging off the device. That’s somewhat morbid, he thought, I wonder if she knows what they are supposed to represent. She sounded upset as her voice rose and fell. Sesshoumaru watched her as he sipped his hot beverage. “How long has she been working for you?” he asked.
Naraku shrugged. “Two, three years? I don’t really know.”
Sesshoumaru was itching to ask what exactly he held over the young woman to make her work for him.
Prompt 6: Perspicacity
The two businessmen returned to their negotiations. In the end, Naraku left without useful information he could use against Sesshoumaru. The inuyoukai, on the other hand, had possessed the perspicacity to obtain Kagome’s business card. While he would not coax blackmail information out of her, he was genuinely interested in how she had managed to ensnare him so quickly. He invited her out to lunch the following week and after a bit of small talk, he asked how exactly she had done it.
She dropped her eyes in shame. “I’m a miko. Wantanabe-sama hired me to seduce his youkai rivals.”
Prompt 7: Imprecation
Sesshoumaru let loose a string of potent imprecations in his mind. That Naraku would use a being of purity for so impure a task, it was abominable. It made sense though. Her absolute innocence drew youkai like paperclips to a strong magnet. The taiyoukai sensed her power now that she was not actively overwhelming him with it, and she was a powerful one!
“What does he hold over you to keep you working under him?” he asked.
Kagome’s lips trembled. “The lives of my family. I don’t know where they are. He abducted them. My services for their continued existence.”
Prompt 8: Rhadamathine
The inuyoukai’s predisposition had always been Rhadamathine. It made dealing with people such as Naraku just a shade from unbearable, knowing that while he wished he could gut them, the present day laws forbade such practices. While he understood that in Sengoku Jidai miko like Kagome were meant to slay youkai, it was mostly in defense of the villages they lived in and not mean to ruin youkai needlessly. Sesshoumaru could not condone Naraku’s use of Kagome in such a way. Promising to free her family and protect her in the process, Kagome eagerly gave Sesshoumaru information on Naraku’s activities.
Prompt 9: Quodlibetificate
The pair of them would meet up once every two weeks for updates on both of their ends. As they hammered out the details in the plan to oust Naraku as the con artist that he was, they would often would quodlibetificate over the fallout and the like. Eventually they finalized a plan after several months of covert rendezvouses. Kagome strolled into the office, bringing Naraku’s daily cuppa. As he rudely snatched it without so much as a by your leave, she caught a glimpse of his main password as he logged onto his computer. The plan was a go.
Prompt 10: Beloved
It ended up being surprisingly easy for the pair of them to cause Naraku’s fall from grace. All they had needed was a single spreadsheet he kept that kept track of everyone he had conned on his computer, and all Kagome had to do was essentially turn herself in, pleading coercion. The government stepped in once she had confessed, and Wantanabe Naraku was behind bars before he had any idea what was going on. During their months of planning, Kagome had fallen head over heels for the inuyoukai, but never had the courage to tell him he was her beloved.

So I finished the main story, but Kagome and Sesshoumaru's romance will remain unresolved.
