Ok so lets get this out of the way: I do not own any of these characters (save a couple i had to create for the sake of the story) and seeing as how they were so difficult to bend to my whims, Rumiko Takahashi can keep them! Also all righst to Overboard belong to MGM...
This was inspired by a late night conversation with r0o in which she unleashed this idea upon me. Ive never written fanfiction before but i was willing to give it a try. Read and review, im open to criticism.
A Huge thank you to minako_stone aka mina aka the best friend a wrtier could ask for, for editing my raw and rambling first draft! Without her helping organize my thoughts, fixing grammer/spelling errors and doing a quick rewrite of rough spots, id be nowhere

Kagome looked up through tear laden eyes, her gaze begging him for understanding. His stare was as cold as the night surrounding them. She averted her eyes, and bit her bottom lip, thinking hard about what to say next. The hum of traffic drifting through the windows lulled her into memories of that night. The bass in the club made her feet rumble with every step she took, the music a bombardment of sound so loud she could barely hear herself think. The alcohol from the many drinks she had consumed made her world lean. “Ugh, why did I let Sango talk me into this again?” She bemoaned the inevitable hangover that would plague her come morning. Someone bumped into her from behind and she tumbled towards the floor, only to be caught mere inches from it. Expensive Italian dress shoes entered her field of vision and she looked up to see a silver haired god clad in an Armani suit.
Her mouth opened and closed unattractively as she tried to find something to say. She made a squeak of a sound and her mouth gaped again, he ended the awkward silence, “Are you going to apologize for stumbling into me?”
She was no longer speechless, her temper flared and she spat back, “Excuse me? One, I believe you ran into me, and two, how about making sure I’m ok!” She took in his icy stare and a sudden realization hit her Oh God! He’s Youkai! Great Kagome, just great, what have you gotten yourself into now? How could she have missed the magenta stripes, the elven tipped ears, and those brilliant golden orbs he had for eyes?
“It is not my responsibility to ensure that drunk, untrained little Miko’s do not stumble into my person when I decide to head towards the facilities. It is in my opinion that it is You who owes this one the apology.” Even as he berated her, he couldn’t help but take in her slender form so strikingly coupled with soft curves, full lips and attractively flushed cheeks.
After a few sobering thoughts, Kagome decided it would be in her best interest to apologize and make amends. After all, his stripes spoke of regal decent. Just fantastic, he’s royalty...and rich…and big…and very powerful…and…and amazingly handsome! “Listen, let me start over.” She laughed nervously, “Thank you for catching me, I don’t normally drink and I’m clumsy on top of it all.” She offered her hand. “I’m Kagome. Kagome Higurashi, let me buy you a drink as both a thank you and apology?”
Her bright smile, lack of fear of him being a Daiyoukai, and genuine polite demeanor surprised him and he found himself taking her small hand in his, “Sesshoumaru Taisho, and a drink would be a satisfactory apology.”
Neither could guess just what the future held for them.
