She was going to murder her. Positively, absolutely murder her! Ok so it’s not like it was really her fault. How was she to know that it was going to start pouring ten seconds after leaving her apartment? Okay so maybe it wasn’t exactly the weather’s fault, she may have left 45 minutes late because she couldn’t find her damn stapler but she was not about to admit that.

“Oh no no no don’t leave me!” She called to the bus as it slowly pulled away. “No no no!” Her hopes were dashed as her chariot drove away, its promise of swift delivery flying away with it. Sighing in a determined fashion, she hardened her legs. With the strength of an Olympic runner, she bolted. She flew past people, her sopping hair flapping behind her.

“I will get there, I will get there!” She echoed to herself as she maneuvered between the throngs of people determined to get in her way. She mentally cheered herself on, her agility surprising even herself. She was like a ninja, a sopping wet ninja in a skirt. The burn of her muscles could not keep her from getting to her destination. As though it were a gift from the kamis rewarding her for her flight, her destination began to loom over her.

“Just another block!” She whispered to herself, putting everything into her run. The doors were getting closer. Then it happened. She had no idea where he came from, but she was going far too fast to stop. It was too late. She braced for impact. Like a linebacker, she tackled him. As they fell to the ground, the only thing she could see was gold, a brilliant soul piercing gold.

“Oh my…” Was her only thought before they hit the ground, hard.
