Summary: It should have been a meaningless evening and now he found himself faced by faces and memories of times that no one should be able to remember.

The building was located in the middle of Manhattan. It was one of those old building, with countless floors, an iron fire escape and an ornamented facing. In the first floor of the building was a small gallery. The elegant interior and the discrete window design attracted many people to step inside and look around.

The evening was meant to be all business, no deeper meaning, no need to stay in his mind. His lady mother called a meeting like this a little tryst. Yet, here he stood in the middle of a gallery, knowing he would never forget it.

Here in the middle of a gallery full of paintings from creatures of times long gone, he was staring at a huge one of a magnificent being and the one it had protected. The painting was frighteningly realistic, with a wonderful depth that seemed to pull the viewer inside.

It had been a very long while since he had seen the things contained on this canvas, but looking at the artwork it seemed as if it had been mere minutes. His hand hovered mere inches away over the paint. For a moment he felt as if he could touch the little being on the painting. His gaze fell to the discrete sign attached on eye level to the wall next to the artwork

His normally stoic mask slipped slightly and his eyes widened as he read the words on it:

"The Inu Lord Of The West And His Daughter | (Assumed Around 1494) | By Kagome Koyama (2010)"

"Good evening," a soft, feminine voice spoke up behind him. "It has been a long time, Sesshōmaru-sama."

Slowly the male turned around, taking in the female before him. She had hardly changed, matured, yes, but she still seemed to be so young.

"Miko."
