Something to Fear
It was quiet, too quiet. How many times had they been in the same situation? How many times had Kagome seen the exact same thing while watching one of Souta’s old movies? The calm before the storm they’d called it; the quiet stillness that came before the anticlimactic plot twist of the show.
It was unnerving. The trees didn’t sway in the wind. Birds didn’t call to each other in the night. Looking around she noticed the others were just as alert and awake as her. Opening her mouth to ask, Sango shook her head, silencing her with a look.
