Hi again. Thank you for reading the first chapter of my story... or for skipping it to read this one. Either way, it makes me happy that someone is reading my story.
Enjoy!

Kagome opened her eyes and stared at the white ceiling above her head. The bed under her felt strange, no springs digging into her back or a hard mattress that made her wake up stiff; the bed was too comfortable and warm to be a real bed. She sat up and glanced over her new room.
While it was different than anything she was use to, she had to admit that the bedroom was very luxurious. The bed had a giant blanket that felt like fur but was too big and perfectly square to be from a real animal, and four wooden posts went high above her head. In the room, there was a rug that looked as fluffy as the blanket, a small antique looking table, a bookcase that Kagome’s mother would probably use for the bookstore, a chair that she would use to read the books in, a wardrobe that probably cost more than she could ever make in her life, and a sliding door that led to the room’s bathroom. The majority of the room was done in white with red and black placed in moderation around the room, probably to keep it from looking like a hospital.
Kagome got out of bed and moved to the wardrobe. After getting some clothes that she had placed there the night before, Kagome went to the bathroom to take a shower.
The bathroom was much like the bedroom, but no colors were needed to keep this room from being too hospital like. The vanity took up one wall of the room, while a tub that could fit Kagome and five of her friends went along another. There was a glass shower stall against the far wall that Kagome blinked at. Showering without curtains seemed just so… odd. Next to it was a toilet that was thankfully quiet normal.
After putting her new clothes on the toilet seat cover, Kagome undressed. Leaving her pajamas on the floor in a little pile, she walked to the shower stall and opened the door. There was a slight squeaking noise as the door swung outward. Kagome smiled at the noise, thinking it another normal thing that reinforced the idea that the house was not perfect. Perfect things tended to annoy her.
Getting into the stall, she pulled the door closed and sighed at how roomy it was in the glass. She had only seen a few showers like the one she stood in, all of the times on tv, but they had always seemed too small. Figuring it was just because of the tv, she didn’t think anything of the stall that was as large as the tub.
Kagome found the knob that controlled the water and tried to pull it forward from the wall, like at her old home. Instead of turning on the water, the knob refused to move away from the wall. Kagome frowned and looked at it closer. There was a half circle around the knob, opening towards the floor. One side had a ‘C’ next to the circle while the other had an ‘H’. Figuring they stood for hot and cold, Kagome twisted the knob so that it pointed towards the ‘H’. With no warning the water came out of the shower head, hot enough to burn. Kagome yelped and turned the knob towards the ‘C’, causing the water to go from blazing heat to freezing cold. She felt the cold all the way to her bones and shivered. Once again, she turned the knob towards the ‘H’, but this time not so far. Kagome felt like she was playing the hot and cold game, were each time she got a little closer. For ten minutes she moved the knob back and forth before finding the right temperature.
Kagome sighed and let the water warm her. Steam covered the glass walls, working just as well as any certain would. She found bottles on a shelf inside the stall and used them to clean her hair. The act of showering was so normal, just one of those things she did almost everyday of her life. The idea of this being something that did not change no matter what had her slowing her motions, wanting to enjoy the simple pleasure of warm water running over her skin for a little longer.
After about ten minutes of just standing under the water, Kagome turned the knob to the center and the shower turned off. She squeezed her hair, hoping to get it as dry as possible so that she would not drip too much water on the floor. She turned to the door and pushed on the glass, opening it.
Only to see that she was not alone.
Kagome let out a screech and pulled the door closed again. Though the steam blurred her vision of the man, she could still see that he was there.
“Who are you?!” She yelled out. There was a pause in which both were silent.
“You can see me.” The man finally said. He stated it, but is sounded like a question to Kagome.
“Of course I can see you! How did you get in here?!” Kagome wished that she had remembered to find the towels before showering; she didn’t even know where the nearest one was so there was no way for her to cover up without him seeing her naked.
“How interesting…” He said, more to himself then to her.
There was the sound of a door opening in the other room. The door to the bathroom slid open and Kagome saw a shadow that was most likely her mother run in.
“What happened?” The blurred shape of her mother neared that of the man. Kagome was ready to hear a scream, a yell, an accusation, something at least. Instead of any of those reactions, her mother’s shape seemed to be lost in the man’s then reappeared closer to Kagome. “Are you okay?”
Kagome opened the glass door and peaked out. Sure enough, the man was still standing there. Golden eyes watched her every move so Kagome closed the door again.
“Don’t you see him?” Kagome asked her mother through the glass.
“Who?” Kagome saw her mother’s head turn, as if she was looking around, but there was no hesitation when her eyes should have passed over the man.
“Uh… No one I guess. I’m fine.” Kagome said finally. What if she was hallucinating? The change in her environment must have driven her over the edge. “Can you get me a towel?”
A few seconds later the door was opened and a fluffy white towel was handed to her.
“Thanks mom.”
Her mother stayed for a second more, obviously worried, but soon enough she left the room, leaving Kagome alone with her hallucination. Kagome wrapped the towel around herself and hesitantly opened the glass door. The man watched with no emotion as she stepped out of the shower. Kagome ignored him, hoping that would make him go away, and went to her clothes. Though she knew he must not exist, knew that he was not a living man, she kept the towel in place while changing.
Only after she was fully clothed did she face the man again.
He wore clothing traditional to Japan, which was odd because Kagome was nowhere near Japan. His clothes were similar to her new room in color, white with red cherry blossom designs. Black armor covered his middle, spikes running along the top of the armor and going over one of his shoulders. Silver hair went down past his waist, very similar to her neighbors hair from before, only this one looked like a waterfall it was so smooth. A blue moon was on his forehead and magenta stripes cut across his cheeks, but neither of those features were as strange as the fact that his boot covered feet were a few inches off of the ground. All in all, he was perfect.
Kagome disliked perfection.
“Who are you?” She asked again. The man just kept on watching her and she thought for sure he would not respond. She was about to give up and leave when he answered.
“Sesshomaru.” Kagome frowned at him, remembering the name as the one Rin had used the day before.
“Well Sesshomaru, can you tell me why I can see you but my mother cannot… And how in the world are you flying? Are you a ghost?” Kagome had so many questions and it seemed that her hallucination was not very talkative. A few more moments passed before he answered.
“I live, but I do not.” Kagome scowled at that.
“How informative.”
Sesshomaru’s expression did not change at her sarcasm. He turned and headed for the door.
“Wait!” Kagome yelled. Sesshomaru paused and looked over his shoulder. “Where are you going?” She asked in confusion.
“To answer your questions.”
