Kagome figured that she had the worst luck in the world.

She picked up a book and pretended to read the back, but in truth she was glancing at the ice king who stood only a few shelves down. The library was supposed to be her safe zone, the one place where none of her classmates would even think of spending their time. Now, not only was her hideout compromised, the one place she could relax, but it was one of the people she wanted to hide from the most. Kagome knew that it was unreasonable to think that no one from school would go to the library, and more than that, she knew that she had no right to be upset because Sesshomaru wanted to check out a book. That didn’t help settle the nerves that were running through her like tornadoes. Sure, part of it was because his presence was so unexpected, but most of it was because she had a small crush on the man. He was dressed in a plain white t-shirt that clung to him tight enough to give Kagome an eyeful and black slacks that made her blood pressure go up slightly. His silver hair was pulled back from his face with a rubber band and the silky hair swung down to his hips. Kagome had no idea why he wore his hair so long but it somehow added to his already handsome features.

The silver head suddenly turned and Kagome hurried to look back at the book. She figured that Sesshomaru would not take kindly to being stared at. She felt his eyes like a physical touch as they fell on her, but after a few seconds she felt the look go away. Kagome glanced over quickly to see that Sesshomaru was focused on another book. She looked of a sign near the book self he was standing in front of hoping to get an idea of what he was interested in. Though she liked him, Kagome had no idea what he liked. Sesshomaru was in no way an open book. The sign that was sticking out of the shelf said it was the self help section. Curiosity consumed her and nerves were forgotten as she wondered what he could be looking up. She leaned to the side a little, trying to see the title of the book he held, but his hand was covering all of the words big enough to see. Kagome had no chance to react before his head turned again and golden eyes met hers. One perfect eyebrow went up.

“It is rude to stare.” He said in a voice that sent chills down her spine and not because of fear.

“Sorry.” She mumbled and looked back at the book in her hand with a blush. She got her first look at it and realized that she had unknowingly picked up a rather risqué romance novel. Her cheeks grew warmer and she hurried to put the book back. A pale hand shot out and stopped her from replacing the book. She looked up to see that Sesshomaru was standing next to her, close enough that he could probably hear her heart that raced like a frightened rabbit. He took the book from her hands and looked down at it.

“Your choice in literature is… unusual.” He said and put the book back in its place. “I was not aware that you had such taste in reading material.” Kagome could have sworn she had died and gone to heaven when Sesshomaru’s lips into a grin. Along with eyes that watched her curiously, he was showing her more emotion that he had ever before.

“I didn’t- I mean I don’t- Uh….” Kagome tried to retrieve a full sentence that would not make her sound stupid from the brain that was slowly to a crawl from exposure to Sesshomaru, but it was no use. “I was just looking.” She said finally.

“Hn.” There was a light in his eyes that was putting Kagome in danger of melting at his feet to become a little pool of Kagome flavored soup. She figured she had but a moment to get out of their before all operations in her mind stopped.

“I have to go.” She said and took a step forward, hoping to move around him. Her bad luck struck again as her foot slipped.

Time seemed to slow as she fell. Kagome felt every bit of air around her like it was trying to keep her up, but it had no chance of beating her luck. Her hands seemed to move of their own accord to Sesshomaru’s waist. Had a moment to feel the heat of his body through his slacks before there was a horrible tearing noise. Time sped up once again and Kagome landed on the floor with an “Oof”.

Kagome felt fabric in her hand that had not been there before her fall. With shaky arms, she pushed herself up from the floor into a sitting position and stared in terror at the black fabric. Slowly, her eyes lifted from the fabric to see Sesshomaru without any pants… And now knew more about him than she ever though she would in her wildest dreams. Fast as lightning a book was pulled off the shelf and used to shield him from her eyes. Kagome’s eyes went higher and she looked into the ice kings face. There was no ice left.

“How many times do I have to tell you I’m sorry before you will forgive me?”

There was no response from the man who walked next to her. After she had torn his pants, Kagome helped Sesshomaru get to the men’s bathroom without anyone seeing. Lucky for him, the library was deserted that day so there were no children to see his humiliation. After he was safely in the men’s room, Kagome had gone to the front desk and gotten the help of a librarian that she knew from her constant visits. The librarian was very sympathetic and had rushed to the back room to see if they had anything that would fit Sesshomaru after Kagome had told her his size. She had founds something but it wasn't exactly what Sesshomaru was hoping for.

“I am not sure if I will ever forgive you.” He said coldly. Kagome knew that his tone would usually terrify her, but… she just couldn’t take him seriously.

“But that bunny costume is so cute on you.” She said with a smile. Sesshomaru let out a growl and Kagome couldn’t help but laugh. It was just so funny that six feet of pink fur topped with big ears was growling at her. Any nerves she had from before were gone. She figured that it was normal after pulling someone’s pants off. “It was the only choice.”

It was true. After looking in the back, the librarian had come back with the suit and said it was the only thing that would fit him. As they did not need the costume back for story time for a little while, the librarian had just asked that they return it before the end of the week.

                Sesshomaru growled again.

“I really am sorry.” She said but couldn’t help the little giggle that escaped at the end.

“Then you won’t mind paying the penalty.” He said smoothly. Kagome froze with one foot off the ground. She put it down slowly and turned to Sesshomaru-bunny. A little giggle left her at the thought even though the idea of a penalty was scary.

“What do you want me to do?” She asked. She wondered what expression Sesshomaru had on under the bunny head and if it would send her running if she could see it.

“You have to be my pet bunny for a week.”

Kagome laughed. She couldn’t help it, the laugh was more from relief than anything.

“Sure I’ll be your bunny.” She said finally, fighting down her giggles. Sesshomaru was silent for a moment.

“I’ll make sure to take good care of my bunny.” He said and she could hear the grin in his voice.

                The giggles stopped.

                “Huh?”
